Just because they both went beyond expectation in international tournaments does not mean anything, conte is not van gaal and we are not man utd. Conte is a man on the way up and probably the best manager we have had since ancelotti. He has not even arrived yet and i've already given him 10/10 for enthusiam, hes no miserable albert steptoe either so the players shouldn't feel distanced from him. The club are already making good progress too, its only the first week of july and two dud strikers have gone and a hungry prospect has been brought in. I think we we are going to do surprisingly well next season.

Just my opinion but i'd have both wise and gullit in tier 1 aswell. We had not won a trophy for 26 years until that fa cup win then we started to become a good domestic and european cup team and wisey and gullit were right at the front of that success.

The whole of JT's chelsea career i've never seen him bullied. He may have unlimited funds and owners who do not get too heavily involved, but with the manchester derby and guardiola, combined with the rivalry with liverpool as well as all the other people he usually has spats with i.e wenger makes me think hes going to be fighting left right and centre.

I agree, he cannot be set up to fail. I would be just be happy for him to get us back in the champions league to be honest anything else is a bonus. If he can get hazard playing again then we are half way there.

I know nothing about conte but I know he will be up against guardiola, jose,wenger,klopp,bilic,ranieri and pochectino to name a few so he's really got a job on his hands.
