ShiningLight reacted to dkw in The John Obi Mikel Goal Scoring ThreadThere's a reason certain players get into that idiots team...the same reason he somehow manages to have a job on the BBC. -
ShiningLight reacted to Orpington_Blue in The John Obi Mikel Goal Scoring ThreadIts amazong the amount of wrong statements one can make with such few words.
His birthday was yesterday, and he is fairly rated as a crap player that he is.

ShiningLight reacted to timetowaste in Torres - The "Groundhog Day" ThreadFirst time in his career he's scored 5 in a row. Glad things are finally working out for him.

ShiningLight reacted to ForeverCarefree in Eden Hazard - Chelsea LegendHasn't played for us in six weeks.
His contribution to the team during that period has been the same as the rest of the season.
If nothing else the lad has been consistent.

ShiningLight reacted to Chelsbear in Cesc FabregasCesc has got more balls than most of our squad. He acknowledges his part in letting Jose down, I haven't heard too many others own up to it...Cesc didn't have to but he clearly respects the man and club so well done him.
As for Captain, I'd have laughed at you if 2 years ago if this was even suggested but other than JT we don't have anyone with the leadership, quality or personality to do it better than Cesc. That's without me being bitter about his past. Conte might bring his own captain in but I doubt it as they wouldn't know squat about our club.
On Jose it's clear he trusted this lot and compared them to his previous team. He probably thought of he showed them the trust they would run through walls for him again...he was wrong as this squad are half the men our old one was. Jose suffered for it which is rather sad really.

ShiningLight got a reaction from cuppaT in The John Obi Mikel Goal Scoring ThreadMikel is genuinely a horrendous player. The only time he seems to get time is when everyone else is playing poorly, and he only seems to look like he's put in a decent performance because his competition for the same spot is playing terribly.
I for one can't wait until he leaves the club. Hopefully he'll join Ramires in China for a hefty sum.

ShiningLight reacted to ShedEnder91 in The John Obi Mikel Goal Scoring ThreadThis is an interesting one. I don't think there's much truth in this notion that Emenalo keeps Mikel around because of the innuendo-laden nods and winks that some people make, but in my experience there does seem to be a slight link (not in all cases) between those who would defend both individuals.
That's not a dig but an observation and I am quite prepared to be told I'm completely wrong, but the prevailing thought is that both probably shouldn't be at the club in the near future and those who hold the contrary view on both issues often seem to be the same group.
That's just something I've gleaned from social media and other avenues. Are these people being contrarians because that's always an attractive stance for some or are we actually scapegoating two valuable members of this club's past, present and future?

ShiningLight reacted to offside in Antonio Conte - Now Officially ManagerIt's inevitable someone would do this, so I thought why not me.
After months of speculation about possible contenders, Chelsea announced today that Antonio Conte will be the head coach starting the 2016-2017 season. Fans have been contemplating this selection. Discussions about managers and head coaches have always been deeply contentious among Chelsea fans.
The context in which he enters is unusual. It is incontestable to say that Chelsea have had a disappointing season. You could call it a season of discontent during which expressions of contempt have been common.
The club and its fans have questions about their new man on the touchline. Will he implement an enjoyable contemporary football style? Is he a good raconteur who can motivate his squad in the dressing room before the game and during half time?
Above all, the club and its fans want their new coach to return them to their winning ways in the league and in cup contests--can he or Conte?
