I would describe Ballack as quietly effective. Some will claim it showed lack of passion, but to me he broke up some plays well, and played easy short passes to pass the play onto the attacking half of the field.

It seems obvious to be that Kalou bunrs himself out pretty early in the game. If he starts you rarely hear his name mentioned in the 2nd half, or if you do it is considerably sporadic

first effort was ballack

a great amount of pressure by us, and we have been using the wingers well. Robben looked particularly good down the left wing, and drogba has been bothersome. The back 4 look a bit shaky, and have failed to deal with high bouncing balls effectively. Bridge has been bombing up and down the wing well too, not so much attacking from Paulo. Ballack and maka are holding back, but push up on attack to supprt. They are allowing frank to roam about behind the forward 3 more and more. My only complaints are..too many long balls, and not enough taken from our continued pressure/dominance. This still gives wigan hope, and me worries

Dear Frank Lampard, please stop playing long balls to the wings during break. There are much easier passes just infront of you that will keep the attack flowing forward freely. Your long balls are easily intercepted, and usually slow up the pace of the couter attack! Sincerely Scott
