  1. Mikel, what a miss. I feel bad because he made the tackle and started the break, with some great running and passing. Then he continues to run into a perfect position, Sheva feeds him the ball, one on one with the keeper, and he scuffs it right into the keepers' arms. Shame, as it would have been a tremendous effort on his part for that goal...had it been a goal, of course Scott
  2. I should type about frankie having an off game more often...nice goal, great skill...and was the ball from Sheva? 2 goals and an assist
  3. the quality ain't that great here either, but I can say for certain that Both Diarra and Mikel have played very very well tonight. Okay it is against Wycombe, but they have been very comfortable with the ball at their feet. Even holding the ball and rounding players/beating away attackers (I was going to say beating off, but decided against it due to teh gutter humour of many regs on here) They ahve also played so very nice, direct, short and long passes that are 90% of the time to their recipient, adn infront of them. Would like to see Kalou given a run out too, but not sure who I would take off. Infact I woulfn't be bothered if all 11 finished who started. Also ballack has had a good game, better than lamps from what I have seen. Made some good dunrs, some great balls, just a couple have gone behind their target, and thus the move has broken down...mind, frankie has done the same too. Also, we ned to play sheva and drogs for teh rest of the season Scott
  4. indeed it was. Gues by this you have your link working? Also, may I add that Mikel and Diarra both look very comfortable on the ball in this game. Could we be seeing more of them this season?
  5. i was juat thinking earlier...."Ashley is keeping Bridge out of both the Chelsea and England teams. Why?" Can't even answer my own questions. Both are good at overlapping runs to link up with the attack, and if anything Bridge is a better tackler. Only thin I feel COle has over Bridge is speed, not sure about who is the better in the air?
  6. not even a glimmer of hesitation. tremendous job Petr
  7. both times it was very good. Drogba also made huge gestures to him each time, looked like he was really trying to lift his morale. Watching this,so far, we just look more likely to score with 2 strikers on the field. Scott

I say we sign everyplayer off that list!

yeah that would be bad now wouldnt it! Seriously, I have stated elsewhere that i feel Robben will leave. I think, as great as he may be, he is too injury prone. He can be electrifying in some games, and then others you don't even know he is on the pitch. However, I doubt we will see him leave in the jan tran window. We are a depleted enough squad already. If we were to get rid of Robben in the future, I really hope we bring in a couple more, young, promising players/wingers. And not more central mids. Robinho, or Anderson (porto) seem to fit that mold Scott
  10. kenyon mentions Terry and Lamps by name. Then lamp's agent comes out and says "hold on a minute, we are nowhere near sorting out franks contract." Frank has been, albeit tenuosly, linked with moves away previously. Now, all I was asking was, could this be a sign that, unless the internal wranglings are sorted, would we see two of out most influential players walk? Scott
  11. Brit, good point about jose and the goal. I was wondering, last night, if SHeva scored how would Jose react? I would have been disappointed if he had sat there emotionless. However, regardless of who signed him, he is one of Jose's players, adn I think he feels passionate toward all his players Scott
  12. SHEVA!!!!!!!!!!!!! can't say it isn't deserved in this game so far
  13. sheva just denied twice in the space of a minute!!!! Hope he is out with a point to prove. Baptista saved a great efort (typical sheva poaching goal) with his feet

    c'est possible

man it took me ages looking for that song on youtube, and I couldn't find it!!!
  16. This brings up a very interesting point. If Jose has such backing from his players, to the point that they will stand up for him. Will those same players also walk if Jose goes. No matter how passionate about the team you play for you are, would you really hang around when you were playing for a team that had no backing from the upper levels? If Abramovich is trying to call the shots, and undermine his manager, what player would want to come to such a team? And what manager would want to manage such a team? Sven and overpaid has beens, that's who. So, if jose goes, would we see JT and Frank leave too? And if they all elave, who do we replace them with? More ballacks and shevas? I know that RA has stated that he wants to see players come through the youth system, and we all hope that this is the case. But what if we also fall for this "galactico" mentality for teh sake of the Chelsea brand? If that is what we are going for, it will be dangerous times for Chelsea in the near future and one that may take a while to reconcile.....liike madrid Scott
  17. it will be mate. I have a bad back, and it has caused me to have siatic nerve problems in my hip and on down into my left calf. It ain't easy, and I am about to start physical therapy for it. Scott
  18. Ok, after the weekend's performance, I really hope that we have JT and percy back for the porto game. I also think that we should play Sheva, even if it is just to take defenders off Drogba. Drogba up front on his own relies to heavily on midfield goals, and they are not coming these days. Anyway, if we have JT and Riccy back then we have a real chance. If we have robben back too, then we ahve an even better one. If we have to play Essien and PF and Geremi in the back 4, then I am afraid we have no chance Scott
  19. ROb, just to say you thoroughly deserved your win, mate. Of that there is no denying it. When I heard the starting line up I knew we were in really big trouble. Geremi PF Essien and Cole as our back 4 just does not inspire confidence. Also, despite his form this season, I am never that confident of drogba up front on his own. In thos situations we relied heavily on goals from midfield. lets be honest, they were not going to come from ballack or mikel, and lamps' long range efforts are not going to trouble you. The final blow came when we had to bring on sweepy. He is dreadful, and inspires no confidence at all. He is certainly not going to be playing anything into Drogba that is worthy of being mentioned. And he didn't The first goal was well taken, and who cares how you got it, you got it and that is waht matters. If your tactics were to hoof balls up to crouch and take advantage of our defensive troubles, then you should be applauded for doing so because at the end of the day you got your 3 points. I also think some Chelsea fans could do with elarning from you lot. A win against us at the weekend and you lot are thinking of the title race again. A loss for us, and many think it is the end of the world. For teh record, anyone can win a two legged competition, but you better do something special against Barca. Scott

I could see him taking over from maka next season. I don't know how much longer maka can play at this level and I have even seen him dip in form this season. I say a good run out in some of the pre-season games, and he would be able to challenge for the spot Scott
  21. Yeah I thought that Anderson kid looked something special, and there were strong links with him due to his Porto playing days. I think he would be cup tied in the CL though! But he is the type of player I feel we should go for, and not cassano or tonni etc. Deco, he is brilliant, but I just couldn't ever see him at Chelsea Scott

    so is UNITED back?

maka, I am not sure that he would replace RObben, but I do think he is one for the future. He shows promise, but he also is frustrating. However, back to Robben....I feel that this may be his last season with us. call it a hunch. I am not sure how much longer he has on his contract, but I feel that his constant injuries could be a problem and he will move on. I hope not, but I also think that we should be in the market for another winger as SWP SHOULD definitely be gone, if the club has any sense Scott

geremi is a great addition to any squad, but far off being a permanent fixture. He scares me in defence, although he plays there for his country, as I don't think he is a great tackler/tracker. He reminds me somewhat of Melchiot in his time at Chelsea. Not bad, but I paniced everytime he went for a tackle Scott
  25. Cheers Dave, glad to hear that he looks as good as we all thought he might well be. Hope to see you in the prem!
