And last night just reminded me why I feel it is totally wrong for a foreigner to manage an international side. Any internatoinal side should only be managed by a coach of that nationality - it's just wrong otherwise. At least when Southgate f**ked up, we had to take it on the chin and accept it. But last night just doesn't sit right and any conspiracy theorists will be having a field day. TT takes his £8m a year or whatever it is and then when the FA question him on why he did what he did last night with subs and tactic etc, he can just shrug and say "yeah, my bad, I got it wrong". Just imagine if that had happened last night but instead of Argentina the opponents had been Germany and the same outcome. I for one would be thinking Hmmm, hang on a minute......!!"

I agree. He looked quite flat-footed and just not that great in general. If we are going to throw any money at Palace, just make it for Adam Wharton.

I have always liked TT and do rate him as a top coach but boy did he f**k up and lose us that game last night. What happened after we went 1-0 was totally inexcusable. Such negative tactics that totally backfired and was Gareth Southgate level of coaching. Also think Harry Kane needs to hang up his boots at international level. He might be a great goal scorer but he had another really poor tournament and at 33, his legs look gone at this level. Hate the fact he stays on when the side was crying out for someone who could actually run.

RIP Ken Bates. CFC supporters will always have a lot to thank him for. Didn't always agree with him but you had to respect the man.

With Santos gone, I would rather we get Wharton then Lacroix. Honestly think Wharton would be an upgrade on Santos and he is just the sort of midfielder we are crying out for.

Yeah, same. I liked Santos as he looked decent at times but then also had games where he looked average and had a habit of switching off and losing his man. But as you say, we have a whole load of deadwood we need to get rid of before Santos, but then getting rid of said deadwood is probably easier said than done.

But more importantly, hopefully Gusto.

I do. Really like him as player and he should be there at the World Cup as don't see too many who can pick and thread a pass like he does. English too of course. Not being xenophobic but I like the idea of having more of a British contingent like we used to with JT, Lamps, Ash & Joey etc. Fed up of seeing the likes of Gusto, Cucurella and Enzo going down too easily.

Although I agree he is not worth £80m, if CFC are valuing Gusto at £75m, then we are lucky Palace are not asking for double that as Wharton is twice the player Gusto is. Football has gone mad.

Trouble with criticising Kane is it can make you look silly. Times I've done it in the past only for him to then score a goal or two. But the fact is, at times he is a complete passenger. The whole side was poor last night and he was up there with the worst performers (although surely that has to be Madueke). But like Ronaldo for Portugal, will TT ever take him off when we need a goal as he scores goals even when playing badly?

I agree that £80m is steep. But I think transfers fees have all lost touch with reality. When I think of the money we have wasted on players in varying positions, who are nowhere near as good as Wharton, it all becomes a bit meaningless. Wharton might not be worth £80m, but then Enzo wasn't worth over £100m, Mudryk wasn't worth whatever we paid for him, nor Gittens, nor Garnacho, nor Badiashille............................etc etc

Enzo does have the knack of getting into the box to score a goal here and there, but the only other thing he is better at than Wharton is covering his body in ridiculous tattoo's. Passing wise, Wharton is at Fabregas level compared to Enzo and that's what we need, someone who can see the pass and execute it. Regularly.

I know she's a CFC ladies legend and she is very knowledgeable and usually good value, but just lately have found her pretty cringey. She hasn't been helped by the way ITV are using her, but now I tend to go and put the kettle on when she appears!

We can't let this lad go to Liverpool or Spurs. He will massively improve us and he is just what we need. If he was to go to Spurs of all places rather than us, that would really hit home as to how far we have fallen as a club.

No I agree. But I think the main reason TT picked them is that they give a bit more energy (as both Palmer & Foden looked knackered at the end of the season), plus neither will moan about being rotated and being left out. Would rather be watching Cole Palmer any day of the week but glad he's getting much needed rest and IF TT does manage to take us all the way, he'll be vindicated.

Think that's a little harsh. Can think of a number of footballers who really are awful but wouldn't include Gordon in that. Same goes for Madueke on the other wing. I'm not over impressed with him, but he did a lot of pressing and closing down. and he's a whole lot more effective than any CFC wide left man currently.

Refreshing change to watch an England game that was actually quite exciting. Thought we played some really good stuff after a slightly dodgy start. Always knew our defence would be our weak link - we are going to have to outscore teams which should make for a good if somewhat nervy watch.
