  1. I think over the seasons, many a CFC supporter would have had an irrational dislike of certain Chelsea players. Sometimes it just can't be helped. Could be they're not very good, perhaps keeping one of your favourite players out of the team. Previously played for a hated club. Maybe just a stupid haircut. Whatever. Now we have this current crop of players and there are just. way too many to choose from. But since Sterling left, I think that Gusto has become No.1 for me. I just cannot see the point of him. He offers nothing. Keeps Josh out of the side AND he has a f**king stupid haircut. Yes, there are plenty of contenders who wind me up for various reasons but Gusto - f**k I want to see him gone.
  2. There's me thinking that was all a Dream!
  3. Under Alonso, we can at least go into next season with a little optimism. My main hopes is that whether we are able to offload any of the deadwood or not, we will not see on a regular basis, the likes of Gusto, Badiashille, Fofana, Tosin, Enzo, Neto, Garnacho etc I want to see a fresh, hungry looking squad, playing a much better brand of football. I don't expect him to play loads of Academy players, but it would be good to see one or two introduced to the first team squad, which again would help freshen things up and hopefully balanced by at least a couple of quality, older signings.
  4. The end of the season really couldn't have come soon enough. There has been nothing to look back on with any joy or pride. For the majority of the season, we have been just as bad as West Ham and Spurs. As many of us have said, worst season in all our years of supporting CFC. Think the owners must have recognised just how bad things have got by appointing Alonso as one more bad appointment and relegation would be a real threat next season. That said, Alonso is a manager, not a magician, so just pray he is able to halt the slide and turn things around. Happy Summer All...............................
  5. I made the better decision still of attending family BBQ and not wasting one second watching any of that sh*t. Kept my eye on the scores and TBH, was more interested in whether West Ham or Spurs were going down and was not at all surprised to see our lot fold to yet another embarrassing defeat, which just summed up the whole season. As others have said, there is hardly one player you can currently warm to. No characters, no leaders, no real quality and the majority of them pretty damn unlikeable. Alonso certainly has his work cut out and he is going to earn every penny to turn us into a half decent side again. I hope he isn't going on holiday and has already started working out who is worth persevering with next season (not too many) and who we can possibly bring in.
  6. If we had appointed Silva or God Forbid persevered with Rosenoir I would 100% agree. But Alosno is the shining light that makes you think things can only improve and we will look a whole lot better than we did in this season, in what can only be described as a complete sh*t-show. In fact I might even check what the odds are for us winning the PL.................................
  7. Agreed. Think other players have definitely been effected by Enzo playing so much - Palmer and Caicedo especially). Hopefully we will look a much more balanced and rounded side under Alonso without Enzo being shoehorned into the team every week. I cannot see us getting Rogers though. I know money talks but he'll be playing CL football again next season with Villa.
  8. You were never a fan dkw!! I liked TT, but must admit some of his decisions are baffling. This is what you get when you appoint a German who clearly still has issues over whether the ball was over the line in '66. He's sabotaged us FFS!!
  9. Me thinks Fabrizio Romano knows nothing and is talking complete bo**ocks.
  10. I know it's end of season and we didn't really have a whole lot to play for (other than beating Spurs, which should always be enough), but I honestly can't recall such a poor game against that lot. It was so dull. So many players just going through the motions with no urgency or awareness. A better side than Spurs would have beaten us last night but thankfully they are where they are for good reason. They are sh*te and last night, we were only marginally better. Last night, Palmer looked better, although still nowhere near his best. Enzo did okay in parts as did Santos - both look a lot better going forward though as both are really poor defending. Hato MOTM. Not sure what has happened to Caicedo. Bar one or two moments and one great pass to Cucurella he was bad and worse still his play-acting every time someone goes near him is getting downright embarrassing. Cut it out FFS. Be so glad when this season is over.
  11. The hierarchy must have already sat down with Alonso to thrash out his 4 year deal and they may well have already gone through the squad but I would imagine there will still be some awkward conversations when he officially starts in July and he lists a whole number of players who he deems not good enough and shouldn't have been bought in the first place. A puppet like Rosenoir just had to get on with it and work with what he was given, but you don't appoint someone like Alonso and expect him to happily do likewise.

So it does look like Maresca could be the next Man City coach, in which case I apologise to @BordeauxBlue Honestly thought it was just his agent bigging him up. Can't believe City would consider such a massive downgrade - they're obviously tired of winning things.
  13. Hmmm, you sound like you're speaking from personal experience there @dkw. SHAME on you!!
  14. Really can't see that. Pedro has had a good season, but not great. He has had some terrific moments but at times, games have passed him by and he chose to have one of his worst performances in the FA Cup Final (maybe Ancelotti watched that whilst he was making his final selections). Brazil aren't the side they were and have no chance of winning the WC so at least Pedro can have a decent summer break, which is great news for us.
  15. I would definitely put Sanchez, Gusto & Neto in the SELL group and would probably add Jackson to that, unless Alonso thinks he can turn him into something resembling a striker.
  16. Yes, Gusto MUST go but also, please NOT Sanchez. I know we go around in circles and say he's not a bad shot-stopper and he's okay when he doesn't have to play with his feet, but ALL serious teams who win things, ALWAYS have a great goalkeeper and Sanchez will never be that. We must have a better No.1.
  17. Just want to make it clear, in case folk misinterpreted my comment back in May last year, when I likened Delap to Shearer, I meant Shearer NOW, at 55 years of age.
  18. f**k City. They might have won today but we win when it matters - CL Final 2021 and more importantly, Full Members Cup Final 1986. "When Pates went up, to lift The Members Cup........................."

Got to be happy with this. Can only imagine Alonso watched the CWC Final win over PSG last season and then hasn't watched us since!
  20. You're probably right. But I would still have rather seen him coming off the bench for the last 20 minutes than either Neto or Garnacho.
  21. Pedro was the biggest disappointment for me today. Didn't do enough and kept going over - looked like he needed longer studs. We needed him to be 10/10 today and he was about a 5.
  22. Thought we played okay but the big difference was they had more players with goal-threat and they had game-changers on the bench. We have to improve our squad so we can throw on players who can actually effect a game, rather than the likes of Neto, Delap and Garnacho. Might as well not bother with subs like that. Colwill was superb though. So good to see a CFC CB so comfortable on the ball and be able to pick passes. Give him the arm-band for next season.
  23. Us keep a clean sheet? Against City? You have to be joking! City are clear favourites, but we do have a chance, albeit a slim one. Don't forget, Everton put 3 past City recently and should have beat them so we have to have a go at them and hope that with Colwill and James in the side, we can keep City's chances down to a minimum. Need Palmer and Pedro to be bang on it and hope Caicedo is more like the early season Caicedo - ditto Cucurella. Just hope we make a good game of it and it isn't a one-sided embarrassment. Do us Proud Chels.......................!
  24. The number of balls he put into the box, only for team mate to f**k up. Be like playing for us with Jackson or Delap on the end of those crosses. I know he's only 17, but if I was coach, I would be sticking him in the first team ahead of Garnacho and Neto. We'll probably end up losing him To Bayern Munich or bloody Liverpool.
  25. Who hasn't?!! Really do not want to see Gusto in the starting 11 on Saturday but resigned to being disappointed.
