Next Coach?
Is there still a Wimpy Bar in South Norwood SE25? Used to go there a lot in the '80's - that would certainly swing it for me.

Couldn't be bothered to stay awake for extra time but Saints go through - although it is Spygate that is grabbing all the headlines!

Next Coach?
If Silva goes to Benfica, then Benfica should forever be in our debt. IF we do get Alonso it would be great and also really annoy The Dippers (many of whom, want rid of Slott). Didn't expect Alonso to get our job but would be happy if it does happen.

At least Millwall haven't made the play-off final.

Levi Colwill
So good to see Colwill back at the weekend. He is far & away our best centre back and just reminded us of what we have missed this season. Hope whoever is the new coach, hands Colwill the captains armband. At least having him back, gives us a better chance in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Alejandro Garnacho
I agree, always saw him as a bit lightweight. But that was before I saw Gittens!!
-
Alejandro Garnacho
It does seem we will have a better chance in the cup final by playing Cucurella wide left rather than any of our actual wingers. The money we have wasted on players like Garnacho, Gittens and even Neto is criminal. Folk talk about how we could have got Olise, Semenyo or even Kvaratskhelia. Those players have all ended up at Top clubs so not sure if that was just wishful thinking but I look at Summerville at West Ham and Christ, he is 100% better than any wide man we have currently. West Ham look certs to go down now so I would be picking Summerville up to replace Garnacho as soon as the season is over.

The FA Cup Final - Manchester City vs Chelsea Saturday 16th May 15:00 GMT
I wonder how many that is the case for these days? Used to love going to watch Chelsea, but in recent years, realised it's the meeting up with friends, having a couple of pints and a burger before the game that was more enjoyable than the actual football. It should be the whole experience - attending a game on match days, but I'm not so sure now.

I honestly don't think they are being corrupt. I think it is more a case of being inept. Modern football, especially the PL, is a mess with corners being the main area which needs addressing urgently. The grappling, jostling, impeding keepers, players going down - there is so much going on it is a complete nightmare to try and ref that. So now the ref gets help from VAR, but then depending who is doing the VAR for that particular game, you get a different interpretation every time, so there will never be consistency. I hate how keepers are over-protected. They need to be stronger and stop going down at the merest contact. But ref's and VAR HAVE to start clamping down on all the holding. I know it's difficult as it is often defender and attacking holding each other, but if a defender clearly has his arms around an attacker when the ball comes in they HAVE to award a penalty EVERY time. If they did that, it would stop straight away. Right now players know they have a fair chance of getting away with it.

Sickening. That late West Ham equaliser was such a fitting end to the game and for it to be ruled out is an absolute joke of a decision. Game has been ruined. When you see Arsenal get away with so many decisions from set-pieces all season, for them, of all clubs to benefit from that one, it really does makes you want to stop watching football all together.

Joao Pedro
Shaun Wright Philips has advised Pedro to jump ship and join Barca. Hopefully Barca have been listening to the views of @bluelightening and will now know he is nowhere near good enough!
-
Joao Pedro
The fact that we are a lot worse than we were 12 months ago, has a whole lot to do with the SD's and the coaches and really poor signings like Garnacho, Delap & Gittens and Cole Palmers loss of form, than it does with Pedro.

The FA Cup Final - Manchester City vs Chelsea Saturday 16th May 15:00 GMT
I still can't quite believe, that our hierarchy think it is acceptable to go into such an important game as the FA Cup Final, with interim, Calum McFarlane in charge. No disrespect to the bloke, but who is he to justify this FFS? Is that how far the FA Cup has fallen? At least in the Roman era we would have got someone like Hiddink in, but of course, that's when we were a proper club. Absolute madness.

Joao Pedro
Keep going on about Pedro when he's the very least of our issues in a really sh*t season, is just making you look foolish fella. Pedro might not be Drogba or Costa or whoever, but he has done more than okay, when the rest of the entire squad have been, on the whole, dog-sh*t. Reminds me, I need to visit the Gusto thread and vent my frustration again. Now he DOES deserve criticism.................................

He is a sublime footballer - a joy to watch. Thing is, although I know they are different types of player, but Cole Palmer was on a similar level a while back. The way he would be out wide, go to go one way and then fool the defender by spinning and leaving him for dead - Palmer used to do that a lot before he lost his mojo.

Yep, think West Ham odds on to go down now with Spurs staying up, but cannot see Arsenal winning CL although looks like they will get the PL - more's the pity.

Cole Palmer signs for Chelsea!
Happy Birthday Cole Palmer - 24 today. Have watched a few clips of some of his early games for us. Easy to forget just what a talent this lad is on his day. Let's hope he can rediscover that pretty damn soon.

Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*
There is a fine line between panic and complete insanity! Anyway, haven't you heard? Marescca is off to Man City. That should see their years of glory come to an abrupt end.

Last night just confirmed why I wouldn't want Simeone as our coach. Sure he would bring some discipline and sort out some ego's, but he's a bit of a "nearly man" and football not great to watch. Just never felt Arsenal were in trouble and always looked likely to go through to final. We can only hope that either Bayern or PSG absolutely BATTER them in the final - THAT will make great viewing!

The FA Cup Final - Manchester City vs Chelsea Saturday 16th May 15:00 GMT
In a one-off game, anything can happen. Look at Palace beating City last season and us beating PSG in CWC Final. But we will need our players to be well up for it and City to have an off day. Can't see it happening but stranger things have happened. That said, will be the least enthusiastic I have ever been for Chelsea in a final. We don't deserve to win anything this season and as much as I'd love us to win it, I don't want the owners and SD's patting themselves on the back and paying themselves another Bonus!

Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest (PL) Monday 4th May 15:00 GMT
Was away at the weekend in The Peak District and was travelling back at the time of the game but didn't even bother having it on the radio and instead earned brownie points with the Mrs so she could listen to music. Have never been so glad to miss a game and see that being the case for the rest of the season although will of course sit through the complete torture of the FA Cup Final.

Which players should we keep?
Never, in my history of supporting CFC, have I ever seen us have such an "unlikeable" group of players. I honestly wouldn't care if we sold the lot of them and started again. That's possibly a bit harsh on a few of them and the players that haven't been playing much earn bonus points - the likes of Colwill, Hato and Acheampong (would keep them). I just hope that whoever we get as the next coach can sort things out and make me actually a like a few of the players again, like Poch was able to do.

Cole Palmer signs for Chelsea!
The nonchalance has always been there - part of the whole "Ice Cold" thing. but he's lost that aura. Didn't watch any of it yesterday (thank God), but saw a clip of the penalty and whereas in the past you felt 100% confident he would tuck it away, he just doesn't look the same any more. He has been first name on the team sheet almost since he has been here but sadly, that is no longer the case.

And that takes us back to the age-old discussion / argument about whether people are happy to win, regardless of how. I think the answer is often yes, when a club hasn't won anything for a long time (like Arsenal this season). But once you have a trophy or two, then the answer surely becomes no. I could not sit through the dull football we had under Maresca for example, just to win the odd trophy now and again. And that would be the same if it were Simeone. Wouldn't want to watch a load of grinded out 1-0's, 0-0's and would prefer someone like Iraola to get us playing more entertaining football, especially if he brings through some of the Academy youngsters like Ibrahim Rabbaj.

Can't understand those who would like Simeone to be our coach. I know he is a no-nonsense guy and yes, it would be good to put a few ego's in order, but I'm not a fan and just find his style of football dull and uninspiring.
