Would that be the McGuigan family? If so I used to go to Chelsea with John back in the late 70’s, he was a few years younger than me though.

That was my Dad's regular pub and my Mum used to play the piano in there on Saturday nights. Robin Nedwell lived half way down St.Dionis Road, I think he was a Chelsea fan too. Rodney Bewes definitely was and he lived in Betteridge Road.

I'm close to hating all footballers tbh, it's not the game I grew up with and loved. Most of the c**ts playing these days wouldn't have lasted five minutes with Docherty or Shankly and they'd be getting more than a few harsh words in the dressing room.

The side terrace at Burnley was big, not sure of the capacity though. Many grounds back it the 20’s were nearly all terracing, I’ve got a book of postcards of grounds somewhere and was surprised by the size of grounds of today’s smaller clubs, Port Vale for example.
