Good first post, Pob. He needs to go now before this gets any worse. It's not like this is a kneejerk reaction. It's the same story over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. NOTHING has changed. We don't look good in any part of the pitch. Frank is clueless.

Frank out. Everything about the way the team plays is wrong. No idea going forward, no idea at the back, and definitely no idea at the helm. Worst manager since AVB.

Deserved to lose. Frank has to go. He hasn't got a clue.

So long as Abraham and Odoi are kept well away from the pens we may have a chance. I wouldn't trust them to do anything. Disgraceful players. Abraham will prob take a miss his and then look to the skies like it's someone else's fault, like usual.

Frank gone by November. Rightly so if this standard continues any longer. Terrible.
-
Tammy Abraham
Today's performance showed again why Abraham isn't good enough. His attitude is so poor. When he scored the equaliser, his first thought was to run off and celebrate and soak up the glory, rather than get it back to the centre spot to grab the winner. Barnsley is definitely about his level.

Completely agree. I'm not going to call for Frank's head, but surely fans alike have to see that the common factor here is some very questionable decisions and coaching. We can't defend at all. The 6-0 midweek was an unbelievably lucky scoreline and was no reflection at all of the game. We were torn open so many times and should really have conceded 4-5 times. I want to say things will improve, but how many times does this have to happen? With the amount of money spent, I wouldn't bet against Frank being the first to go this season if things don't get better soon.

As expected we are being found out hard. Barnsley massively papered over the cracks. We are so unbelievably terrible and I have to say, I think it's Frank's fault. First manager to be sacked?

Pre-match predictions - Week 3 - West Brom (Away)
WBA 1-2 Chelsea, Mount 39

Welcome Ross Barkley
Nice post, Sexy. That also highlights how good Caballero was for us last night too. 6-0 was a massively flattering scoreline to us. Barnsley could easily have nicked quite a few goals last night too if it weren't for Willy.
-
Welcome Ross Barkley
Havertz and Abraham were definitely up there too, as was Mount. There were a lot of great performances all over the pitch, but for me Barkley stood out big time. He was holding the ball really well, didn't give away possession and his passing was great. Nice goal to finish it off too. Havertz will rightly get all the headlines, but Barkley was the unsung Barnsley hero.

Has Werner played on the left wing a lot before? Lots of people placing him there in their ideal line ups. For me: Caballero Azpi Tomori Silva Chilwell Kante Kovacic Mount Havertz Pulisic (if fit) Werner

Welcome Ross Barkley
He was exceptional last night bar his miss. Fantastic performance and definitely MotM. Let's hope he keeps it up.
-
Tammy Abraham
I've oft derided Abraham on here, but it's fair to say he had a very decent game for us this evening. Hopefully it'll be the first of many decent nights and link ups with Havertz.

MOTM vs Barnsley (H) (LC)
Big vote for Barkley, who was exceptional tonight bar his big miss.

Hudson-Odoi has been absolutely terrible tonight. Those calling for him to start over Mount must surely be eating their words. He's made the whole team worse.

Some of our players need to put some actual shooting boots on. Shocking, shocking misses. Fortunately Havertz has put the ball away. Mount with 2 terrible misses and Barkley with an absolutely shocker too!

Whilst it is only Barnsley, Havertz has looked so much better tonight in that #10 role. I know there was some debate elsewhere on the forum that the right wing was his best position, but on the evidence today he certainly looks infinitely better playing through the middle.

I hate to say it, but I think Hudson-Odoi needs to come off. He isn't offering anything at all right now. Move Havertz to the right and bring Werner on to score a couple.

2 lovely assists from Abraham there. He's definitely playing very well tonight along with the goal. Havertz hat trick come on!

Barkley the best player on the pitch. My MotM so far.

2-0 flatters Chelsea that half. Barnsley have actually looked pretty decent going forward and we've been exposed at the back quite often. Really need to step it up in the second half. I'd like to see Havertz score a few more.

That wasn't a red. They had a defender on the line covering. Regardless, stupid tackle from their goalkeeper.

That's fair enough, EB. In fairness, I hadn't seen the stats but it certainly felt like Abraham was inferior to Giroud. That's something I still believe regardless of the goals per minute numbers. Perhaps it was post-restart performances last season that influenced me.

Yes, and had Giroud played every game for us up front, he would easily have surpassed Abraham. The only reason his stats look anything remotely decent is because he was given a substantial amount of game time. Abraham is not good enough for Chelsea.
