Sturridge's tribunal
It was mentioned around the time of his medical but not really embellished upon. The papers seem to be picking up on it now, so wether that is based on the original rumour or fact I don't know. However, for him to fail one of our medicals, I am sure is impossible. Lescott, Bridge and last but by no means least Santa Cruz have all passed them. Santa Cruz has his own disabled bay at Carrington and Coms, the name Rocky has never been so inappropriate.

Sturridge's tribunal
Sorry my mistake, I completely misread what you had said. Yes he has had some very good games for you lot. As for Vieira, only time will tell. Personally I wish we would just snatch Barca's hands off and take Yaya as an exchange for Robinho so I wouldnt have to worry about wether Vieira can still hack it. I get the feeling he is being brought in more as Mancini's voice in the dressing room and on the training pitch.

Sturridge's tribunal
What you mean after seeing a close friend shot and die in his arms?? Couldnt really give a f**k in the grand scheme of things to be honest with whats happened to him considering. Not like you to try and be provocative though is it. xx Tim, come off it, Ballack has been nowhere near one of your best players and im sure there are plenty on here who would agree with that.

Sturridge's tribunal
Point me in the direction of said debates then. I saw your transfer thread and thought that was it. Ah well Vieira cant be as sh*t as Ballack and its good to see we are concerning you enough to have to debate our signings. As for Veron, how im gutted he turned down the offer that was banter between two friends. At least we didnt spunk 20 million on the sh*t house.

Sturridge's tribunal
Oh dear, the tribunal is over and all you can think of is me. xx Anyhow its good that its over, money is irrelevant in a way, good fee for both though and we get a sell on fee. I wish him luck now its all settled.

The murmurs last night were of Vieria potentially playing as a CB. Personally I cant see him starting frequently, however being brought on to help us see games out. I cant see him playing 90 minutes every week. Maybe spared for the big games and then used as a substitute role to see off the strugglers of the league? Thats what I hope anyway. I certainly hope he does not take De Jongs position in midfield, playing alongside him would be great for De Jong as he openly admitted when signing for us last year that his idol is Vieira, could be a great tutor for him.

I occasionally go on there but I use mancityfans as well. Ireland is a bit of a mystery this season. He had the alarming moment earlier in the season in which he ended up collapsing on the pitch, then being substituted and spent the night in hospital on a heart monitor. City claimed it was a virus but he certainly hasnt been himself this year and he has not played that many recently. Part of his form is down to Barry, when we have Barry, De Jong and Ireland in the same team, Stevie ends up on the right wing where he is wasted. We cant play all three. Another problem is Robinho. The guy is being slagged to f**k, some deserved, some not quite so, but Ireland and Robbie in the same team is honestly what I think Stevie has been missing. Robinho picked him out time and time again last season. The bursting runs are still there but he is not being spotted. Robinho had the talent to find him almost everytime. I am gutted he isnt in the form of last season but the club once again is going through another transitional period and we cant get a settled team through injury. I hope and believe he will come back as strong as ever but right at this minute I cant see where he fits in. I prefer him to Barry but wether Mancini does remains to be seen.

We performed very well last night. I have to say that Mancini got his tactics absolutely spot on. We stood off them everytime they picked up the ball and they had no answer. Thats the way to play against long ball shyte like Blackburn. They probably expected us to try and mix it up and we did nothing of the sort and battered them on the counter. Tevez is in exceptional form at the minute. The second and especially third goal were world class finishes. Micah is looking somewhere back to the player of a couple of seasons ago, not surprisingly because he is being played at centre half. That run was unbelievable. Great to be in the top four and I just hope we kick on now. Our team is threadbare and Mancini has them playing as a unit. Players not in the starting line up last night. Lescott Toure Bridge Ireland Vieira Adebayor Robinho Wright-Phillips Santa Cruz Onouha Johnson. Very impressed with the organisation and tactical awareness of Mancini so far. As for Di Santo, he had no chance, he worked hard and chased down some lost causes. I dont think its fair to judge him in an Allardyce team. Probably the wrong loan move for him in all honesty. He would be better suited to a team like Burnley who try and play football. Allardyce looks at height for the sole purpose of smashing long balls at their head. For an inexperienced kid against players like Richards and Kompany he is going to get dominated. You should take him back and loan him elsewhere IMO.

Death toll has risen to three according to the goalkeeper. Confirmed that Togo have withdrawn.

Togo football team's bus fired on
This really is a tragic event. Reports coming through that the team meeting Ade held this morning has resulted in them leaving. They are apparently at the airport now. Thank god. The tournament should be cancelled and everyone brought home. I was disgusted at the event organisers yesterday. They attempted to play the incident down blaming a burst tyre for the panic. A burst f**king tyre for christ sake. Adebayor was one of the players carrying the wounded from the buses. He sounded distraught on the radio last night. I just want them home.

Sturridge being groomed as the new Drogba
haha the feelings mutual DKW. The impression Sturridge left on City fans was not a good one. He was a horrid little sh*t while he was here. Im glad you all think so highly of him. I actually want him to achieve believe it or not, we made him the player he is and now he is learning from the best possible players in Anelka and Drogba. Like I said, he will be like a new Anelka for you lot. His attitude just left a very bitter taste and I do wish we would wash our hands of him and let him go. He isn't worth our attention anymore. He burned his bridges (:) with us. I do wish him luck. I see the point about youngsters at City, he was getting his chance though. He wasnt taking it enough. He showed moments of brilliance, away at Blackburn and at home to Stoke in particular. But all I see and hear when I look at him is the arrogant kid that swanned onto the pitch against West Brom after asking for 70k a week and miscontrolling absolutely everything into his feet, not passing to his team mates and when picked out by Ireland for a tap in, scuffing it into the net and ignoring his team mates. This is where the problem lyes for me. Great potential as I have said countless times, and again I want him to achieve highly as it reflects well on us.

Sturridge being groomed as the new Drogba
Id rather we just gave him to you to be honest. Im sure if Sturridge turns up at the tribunal and could set the fee himself it would be a british transfer record. HE IS THAT GOOD!

Sturridge being groomed as the new Drogba
Haha, it wasnt good yesterday. A frozen pitch in the snow with a very young and patched up squad. I'll take the result considering the squad and for as dire as we were I dont remember Shay making a single save, not bad against a team who fancied a giant killing and a young debutant in Boyata who excellend himself in defence to make it 3 clean sheets on the trot. Good result.

Sturridge being groomed as the new Drogba
Comes from experience. Lets just hope he matures eh.

Sturridge being groomed as the new Drogba
Scoring 2 goals against a piss poor Watford doesnt make him the next Drogba. You need to get him in the gym and on the wieght gain for a start. He is nothing like Drogba, I see him more like Anelka. A silky player who has an eye for a pass and knows how to finish.

Sturridge being groomed as the new Drogba
Just no.

Sturridge
Well we will have to agree to disagree. Players have gone backwards under him in the main part. Robinho's attitude has been plain disgusting, I don't think he will cut it in this league, he started off life here brilliantly though, so something has gone wrong over the last 12 months or so. Injuries and nightclubs have played their part as well. Bellamy seems to love playing for him, however Bellers seems hell bent on enjoying the last stint of his career. (On the subject of bellamy, I thought it was excellent of Wenger to admit that he would not be buying him, thanks Arsene, glad its down to you.)

Sturridge
It was creeping in last night. Tackle over the top of the ball that was a stone wall penalty and then slipped at a vital moment to allow Torres in. Dont get me wrong I adored Dunnie but he had gone stale at City. I imagine a large part of that was down to Hughes as he seemed to have a knack of training the talent out of our players. Robinho, Adebayor, Richards, Dunne etc...

Joe Hart
The rumours at the moment are saying that Roberto wants to take a closer look at all his options. Personally I think Joe should be our number one and grow as the team develops. I would take the odd mistake from him as I think he will benefit from learning in our system rather than someone elses. Personally, as much as I rate Given, I dont relate to him, I know that is a weird thing to say. Joe Hart is a City player, he has the character and humour. I hope he comes back at the end of the season and becomes our number one. We should never of signed Given IMHO. There is zero intention to sell him, just to get him experience and then bring him back permanently. One more season on loan could be good and then it should be his time to shine.

Sturridge
Yeh, he certainly has some talent, as long as he keeps his attitude in check, or channels it in the right way then im sure he can achieve highly. If we managed the top 4 and a carling cup I would be ecstatic. I honestly think we will finish 5th though. I have a horrid feeling Spurs will get 4th. Im not at this moment concerned about Villa, they have to be the luckiest team in the world with injuries and i can see that running out shortly and Dunne will revert to type soon. As for the dippers, hoping that them and Villa draw tonight. We should no doubt be higher in the league but we arent badly placed considering we have a game in hand on most. Only 2 points off Spurs so win that and we are in the top 4. I just hope Mancini continues how he started and he can boot Robinho into line. If not then I hope robbie goes.

So can you answer my original question regarding Sturridge?
-
Sturridge
Sorry DKW, remind me who you are signing over the next few transfer windows? No? Nevermind then... Maybe someone who knows can answer my original question.
-
Sturridge
No actually, I heard it from one of the guys at work who is a Chelsea supporter.

Sturridge
Just wondering if any of you lot know if the fee has been agreed yet or have you paid for him? On the subject of the next Pele, how is he doing now? Last I heard was that Terry and co have had to have words with his ego on more than one occasion. Did alright yesterday from the brief highlights I saw.

I take your points on board Loz but have you seen our injury list?? Bridge, Lescott, Adebayor, Santa Cruz, Onouha and Johnson. Toure and Ireland are also carrying injuries. The thing is, under Hughes we would never of kept the clean sheets, yes the fixtures are easy (supposedly) However Hughes somehow managed to f**k up against, Bolton, Hull, Fulham, Burnley at home! We would an should be at least 8 points better off and that would put us second with a game in hand. It is to early to judge of course. But this is a guy that is largely worshipped in Italy and who the fans have called back to replace Mourinho on many occasions. He has clearly got some talent and to have us finally playing one touch on the floor football, back to the triangles we saw in the early days of Sven, well, im all for it. If he gets us to the Carling Cup final then im more than up for rimming the guy.
