José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
I'm still confused as to this perceived player mutiny that some feel is going on, for the life of me in the three games before today I'd have said the lads were not at their best form wise made worse by a couple of important players injured but looked to be playing their hearts out for the cause. I didn't feel that today but still nothing pointed to me that it was a revolt of any sort, it just looked like nerves and lack of confidence were making everything strained, every mistake amplified and every refereeing decision that is going against us is playing on their minds to the extent that they believe they can't win. OK Hazard didn't go and give Jose a cuddle as he went off but I would imagine that was more embarrassment at his performance than a critique of the managers choice to sub him off. I would imagine players like JT who have seen it all here are letting the lads know that a change of manager isn't going to boost their medal collection and he's likely told them tales of playing under lesser managers after he left last time and trying to keep it all together, any lacking belief in his tactics or ability need only talk to the senior players to find out the truth. I still feel it's all down to a bad pre season, bad form lack of peek fitness and sharpness and a nervousness brought on by a mixture of those things plus finding out winning the title at a canter doesn't mean you can sit on your laurels and still be the best team in the EPL. The refereeing decisions seriously are having an impact as well, what go's around comes around is all well and good but we certainly have had a bad rub of the green up to now and with the media clamoring for our failure and the spotlight on everything the lads do at an intense level the nerves and lack of confidence that they are suffering from is likely harder to ignore. We all have our qualms with Jose's style (until the trophies start mounting up) and sitting on slim leads is one of mine but there is no getting over our own schoolboy mistakes that are costing us in games we should be able to shut out like todays. I'm still of the opinion that replacing Jose would be detrimental to Chelsea's ambitions and I'd be surprised if the new manager effect even happened if we did, we'd just as likely stay where we are in the league and start next season as we have this. I think Jose will get us through in the CL and hopefully that will give Roman the confidence to let him identify some help in January to freshen things up, in the meantime, even with people on here moaning about the same team weak in weak out I think he is getting a bit more inclined to change and the dropping of Fabregas, Matic and Eden of late is showing he's not favouring anyone and that must be good for the likes of Kenedy, RLC and Traore who I hope we see more of especially the way the first teamers are performing. Another thing worth a mention, most complained when JT was left out but he has not improved us to any extent, most complained when Ivan started every game and since he hasn't been in the team we have nothing going forward from RB and again have not improved. This managing lark isn't as easy as we'd like to think.

And I thought the final whistle today was about as low as I'd feel...thanks for that.

MOTM vs Liverpool (H) (PL)
same two players that are usually in contention, special mention for Kenedy who looks like he really wants to impress, now is his time I think and he deserves a start in the next game on his cameo today alone. Think I'll go for Willian by a gnats.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
Todays game seemed to be a step back in our slight improvement, I think because it was the scouse with their new manager the pressure was even higher and we seem to have ended up with a team who really can't take pressure. Liverpool looked hungrier and in Coutinho had a player that made hazard look what he has become...a shadow of the player he can be. I have been satisfied with the slight improvement we have shown in the last few games even though results have not been great but today (and I'm not just saying this in defense of a manager I don't want us to lose) the players as a unit looked shell shocked as soon as they felt a bit of pressure. Willian and Azpilicueta aside the whole team looked nervous and to have imagined that replacing Hazard when you need a goal woold be the right decision last season would have been absurd, this however it was entirely justified. I don't like digging players out as I don't with managers but have this set got so used to us sacking managers when they don't perform that they want to have a rest every couple of seasons and let the manager pay the price whoever that is? surely if Mourinho can't command more respect than that we are seriously in trouble if he go's, the next man will likely get their full commitment for about two weeks. Jose has made mistakes and is pragmatic when defending a lead but the players should be held responsible for todays trainwreck and if that leads to the exit for Jose I think a good few of them need to follow him out.

This isn't the managers fault, players have to want to it more than this, If Roman sacks Jose I pity the next poor f**ker that has to get these lot motivated.

It's difficult to judge the way we're playing when the commentary and focus on any offenses from Chelsea players on the field is so biased. I really can't imagine how they get away with it.

Jose showing he'll make decisions no matter who the player, left Fabregas out and now subbed an under performing Hazard, seems like good management to me.

Nice to see a new poster join who is supportive the manager, not sure you'll find 98% on this forum are behind him but you'll certainly find a good share of us are. I'd be appalled if Roman was to get rid of Jose and I'm fairly confident he won't so it will be an interesting season watching Jose in a position that's new to him learning another aspect of the game.

Mourinho wants to be sacked?
I'm confident Roman has given Jose the new contract and means to let him see it through this time, before the last few sackings every time the camera got a look at Roman he looked like he was about to pull the trigger, I've not seen any change in his usual body language or mood in the glimpses I've had this time. It will go a long way to giving me a renewed respect in our owner if he sticks by Jose, I feel almost ungrateful when I look at what we've achieved since he's been here but I've admittedly always been annoyed at his impulsive trigger finger but when he brought Jose back it really made me think he did have the future of the club at heart and had learned that the chopping and changing would not lead to long time success at the level he really wants it. To be honest I think he has and if he does ride this one out it will give me a renewed interest as I have to admit the hiring of Benitez was almost a last straw for me, Jose returning really did turn out to be the only antidote to the FSW syndrome I was suffering from. Can you imagine what a Brenda rogers syndrome would do to us? as every season or two when there are people crying out for a managerial change I again must warn people...careful what you wish for

Mourinho wants to be sacked?
Just looking at an interview on BBC sport with Jose talking about the players and people saying they are not behind him, he said it was an insult to the players and that the people or ex players saying it must be thinking that his players are like they were, quality put down to the stirrers. He seemed well happy (as I am) with the effort against West Ham and last night, we're not tearing it up but those players are playing for him and they don't want him sacked as far as my instinct is concerned. He looked more relaxed as well which is a good thing, listened to Frank and Zola on the same site basically saying he'll turn this round.

That would be if I wrote what I meant to write...Matic. I doubt Mata will want to come and help us out in the Pivot

no way back now
If more people on here showed the fight the fans players and manager did last night the atmosphere would be a lot better and there would be even less need for pony threads like this.

Mikel for me, he looks assured on the ball and is playing as well as he ever has, always solid and that might be something we could do with in this team, I think Mikel and Mata would help with whatever back four Jose decides to pick, just need to get the forward players firing.

Great to see the players right up for this, Hazard doesn't look like a player not doing his best for his manager to me, hearing the fans cheering for Jose is brilliant after the last few days with only the forum as Chelsea related contact. If this go's tits up lets hope people remember the shift the boys put in and if it go's right roll on Liverpool.
