Losing Costa was costly, Remy is a totally different player and probably better as part of a front two, nothing seems to want to go right for us at all.

Are people really calling this a sh*t team? Begovic; Zouma, Cahill, Terry ©, Baba; Ramires, Mikel; Willian, Oscar, Hazard; Diego Costa. One player out of position, a start for our much talked abot new LB in the league cup, last seasons player of the season and our no one striker playing ahead of our seasons best performer, a rested no 10 and Mikel who came in at Upton park and did a good job. Is it hard to please some people or what?

Jose Mourinho replacement
I just looked at the memorable quote going across the bottom of my screen and it was from Englishmen, could have been anytime over the last few years but he had it spot on and it deserves another airing... " Us looking for a new manager these days is a bit like Henry VIII looking for a new wife. There'll always be someone desperate or ambitious enough but the very best catches who have plenty of suitors and value their heads will look elsewhere. " Don't know if you've been on lately Englishmen but this is as apt now as it was then...well said.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
Sorry Abrom I replied to Nibs really with the same as I'd have said had I read your post first, for me the way he behaves is very secondary to the results I know he is capable of bringing, I won't measure him on a couple of months of iffy results and judge his personality on what we've seen while we've not been up to standard, I'll judge him on what he has consistently achieved, his still over the top personality when we're winning and what I believe he can still achieve. His reputation might suffer and certainly will if he is sacked but only until he go's elswhere and starts winning again, then he'll have a whole new bunch of fans hanging on his every word and lappig it up...I hope they have a bit more patience in any rough spells than the ones who he's already done so much for here.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
That as I said in another thread to Plokoon, is how a lot of us feel and more a measure of our own personalities than Mourinhos, he at least is consistent and that likely stems from the belief he has in himself and his aility to turn this round. I understand how you feel and would myself prefer him to be a bit quieter but we've had managers here who when I argued their case had their own less passionate and volatile personalities pointed out as that of losers...they can only win when they're winning.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
Just to clarify my view as we're on the subject of blind loyalty... I've supported almost every manager we've had and been on these boards stating their cases even when they have had little or no record of achievements, little or no history with the club, some without any real reason other than I felt their situation made it difficult to judge if any of the problems were fully in their control. I defended managers that were not a touch on Mourinho purely so we didn't keep chopping and changing and hoping we could get one man to build something here and stick with that man through the bad as well as the good. I didn't for a minute dare to hope one day Mourinho would be back, I wouldn't ever let on that I knew he was head and shoulders above anyone we had got in or ever would get in. Once he came back the relief was almost like another title (it soon was that as well) and it felt like we at last had the man back who had deservedly gained enough respect from the fans (and the owner) to be given as much time as he needed, through thick and thin to get us to the next level. It might be a one step back, two steps forward process but I still believe we have that man here, comparisons with whatever names are chucked in the hat just irritate me, he's better than all of them, he's proved it, he wants to be here, he's one of us. No blind faith, he's proven his worth, if you look at his career and judge it on the last two and a half months then it's you who are blind. If he leaves this club we'll never be up there with the elite, I truly believe that the media are actually turning Chelsea fans against their manager and they don't see it, a few tantrums and frustrated gobsh*te remarks and people give up on the most talented manager of his or any other generation. Why would we give a sh*t what he comes out with? who cares if we detest his whole personality? if we win games because of him (which we have and given time will again) why worry? I don't want to go down the pub and have a beer with him, I don't want him round my house for dinner, I want him to take the club I support to the very top where he and it belongs. Do we really need to worry how he behaves? some of the most talented people are utter dickheads but usually they are the best at what they do and they know it. I don't really care how the press or opposition fans perceive him, he's the one who has brought more than half the titles we have to the club and he's entitled to be as arrogant and over confident as he likes even when things aren't going to plan because he's got nothing to prove.

Quality post Yorkly mate, You really should post more often.

Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend
Hazard likely has a bit of a sulk on because Jose has told him he expects more of him, perhaps he has lost some form and it's giving him the hump because when he tries things they are not quite coming off, hence playing it safe more than he used to...it happens when confidence is low and sometimes players gradually get some form back by doing it. The whole team isn't playing badly at all, Azpilicueta, William, Zouma, Mikel, Begovic, Loftus Cheek to name a few are all playing well, do people think there is some sort of split in the dressing room and these players are all cuddly with Jose while the out of form players are out of form because they don't want him there? If so why does Ivanovic get so much stick from people? he obviously is getting on alright with the manager yet his form is arguably one of the worst. People twist everything to their own agenda and the media always get there man because of the unrest they cause, if everyone gave the idiot press the disrespect they deserve and got on with supporting the team without guessing what might be the root cause of losing a few games we would likely be better off for it. I hope Roman is sitting with his cornflakes and orange juice in the mornings on his Yacht, laughing his nuts off at the headlines in the knowledge he's gonna see this one out with the man he knows is the best choice for the club.

Jose Mourinho replacement
There's nothing but speculation to say anything's changed but if it has the next man in can only possibly be in it for the short term payout, I'm pretty sure the sitting down and working out the contract part would be difficult, Roman knowing he's likely to repeat his usual actions and the new man knowing exactly the same thing...that contract will either have a big payout clause to attract some of the better managers closer to the top where Mourinho is or a small pay out clause that will see a less fashionable face in the dugout and the people giving up on the Mourinho very soon complaining about the new man. I'm hoping all the speculation in the press and here is nothing more than that and Roman is oblivious to it all sitting back in the knowledge that he expected a few ups and downs but is happy to see it through with the man he gave a long term contract to.

Jose Mourinho replacement
Bobby do you seriously think any manager would look at the last 15 or so years and the criteria for staying in the job and imagine he was taking on a long term project? Everyone was looking for stability and when we got Jose back we all feared he didn't want a long term Job, he still says he does even with the ungrateful attitudes and media hysteria about every problem but fans are turning on him a couple of months into a season that up to now has been poor. Any Manager looking at the Job if succeeding Mourinho will be coming in eyes wide open knowing the best they can hope for is a payout like he'll get if Roman really is that stupid.

Mourinho wants to be sacked?
I don't think there's any "lost the dressing room" about it, people talk as if these players are a group of easily hurt prepubescent teenagers that will down tools over the slightest fall out, they're on money that we can only dream about and I would expect most on here have put up with crap we didn't like from people when being paid good money to do so. I know things might have irritated a few, the Eva thing could have had some of them whispering to each other that Jose acted like a dick...I thought he did myself but it hasn't stopped me wanting him as the manager of the team I support, some of them maybe haven't liked being called out for playing below par but if that makes them stop playing for the man how on earth did they ever become good players in the first place, were they the kids in the park that you tackled and won the ball off and they said "I want my ball back, I'm going home"? The reasons for our poor start are likely a lot less tabloid friendly and more just form issues and a bad preseason catching up with us, that and some obvious need for additions that never arrived. I'd wager even though I'm well happy with Begovic, that had Tibo not picked up his injury we'd have a few more points on the table and this previously unthinkable witch hunt of the manager wouldn't be happening.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
It's Meh to all of us Mayo and I only replied to your post because I sense a few of the posters (of which you are one) I usually agree with are edging towards the wrong side of the fence on Jose, I just try to make people stop and think a bit as I do myself when things are not going well. There really has been some improvement and there's unlikely to be any more if we start messing around with the managers position. well done to your grandad by the way, quality name

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
I'm surprised you feel we are getting worse MayosNoun, I won't steal your own superb description of many posts on here but really think you need to watch the last three games again and then come back and tell me you still think we're getting worse, the only thing thats getting worse is peoples reactions to bad results. Villa we played OK, Kiev we played maybe a touch better and West Ham I think we played better again, if you only look at the scoreline's or if you give no credit to the opposition then you really would think we we're showing no signs of improvement but in reality small signs are there. We have some mitigating factors here when you concider the problem at RB, the problem with Cesc (too good to leave out but a strain on the defence when played next to Matic) an admittedly decent back up keeper who nevertheless is a distance behind the one we let go or the one who we have out injured, an out of sorts Hazard (that by itself is enough to cost us games as he is heavily relied on in our system) JT being the only real leader we have but being very near the end of his career, I could go on. Obviously these problems should have been dealt with over the summer but Jose didn't want to let Cech go, he by all accounts would have liked to have kept De Bruyne, he badly wanted a CB as we know by the attempts to get Stones. I expect you did see the last three games and possibly you disagree that we've shown improvement, not many teams this season would do any better away to West Ham with ten men than we did and only a mistake led to Andy Carroll getting up above Azpi to nick the winner that could easily have gone the other way.

Mourinho wants to be sacked?
I can't believe anyone thinks Jose would not be doing his best to get us back on track, all the theories about him wanting out, playing favourites, falling out with players etc etc are just theories. The man has an impressive career, he is a winner and is a very proud man (hence the way he is reacting a bad run of results) and he certainly won't want a failure at a club he returned to because he claimed that it was more than a job, that he was also a supporter...he doesn't need the pay off money, he is already a very rich man, I'm certain he would rather earn more winning things here and likely setting himself up for a bigger pay packet or a national managers position in his next job than having people look at him as a failed Chelsea manager seeking work. I don't understand why people pretend to know his motives or thoughts and don't just put themselves in his position for a minute, a top manager back in a job that he wanted to be back in, another title under his belt and 10 games in to an epl season as champions he finds things have got difficult, does a proven winner roll over and give up? seriously? he's pulling his hair out trying to get the boys back to some form and there have been signs that we might just be doing that, the other teams arr not going to roll over for us, they are all improving and will have a bit more confidence because Jose and the lads are under pressure but that doesn't mean a man like Mourinho will bottle it and give up, the only person who might bottle it here is Roman and that will be to our clubs detriment and not because Jose wants a big pay off so he can sit at home with his pipe and slippers reading about his career ending with a massive failure.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
I knew one day everything in the universe would be turned completely upside down, I knew all we believe in could someday be shown to be incredibly inaccurate, I don't know anymore I really think history is being rewritten and on the shedend forum of all places... A man so easily mocked for being brave enough to admit his support of that team from up near Edmonton has shown that there could indeed be intelligent life sitting in the stands at White hart lane. I salute you sir, you are about the only spud I like.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
You'd see in other posts of mine I think you're right, Jose needs to reign it in a bit, that said replacing him wouldn't be an ideal solution. I've never liked Jose's personality but that won't stand in the way of my respect for his abilities as a coach.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
Don't start doubting your own instincts JM7, I know you have faith in the manager so don't be swayed by people who are happy to doubt him. Of course he is trying to build from the back and scrape out some wins, the Villa game we scored 2 with no reply, The CL match we didn't concede and the West Ham game when we did concede we upped our performance quite well for a team with ten men away from home. Jose isn't waiting for a payout, he's doing what he always does and that is plotting the tactics for the next game, hopefully if all the players keep their heads and it ends eleven v eleven we'll see a bit more improvement.

West Ham vs. Chelsea (PL) 24/10/15 KO 15:00 BST
I think this post highlights how people can contradict themselves purely out of frustration at having lost a game, "the team is a total shambles but we played well despite being one short"... "it is simply not good enough to have lost? see you next year Chels?" we have no divine right to win games, playing well despite being one short should be enough for a supporter of a club that is struggling for form, an improvement in our play over the last three games even though we suffered another loss should be something we are looking to build on but due to the many many manager sackings over the years most look to Roman to act in the way he so often has, forgetting even he saw his mistake with this manager and brought him back. If anyone really thinks another man in his seat will turn this round quicker than he can I would imagine it will be a case of see you in a few years Chels.
