splishsplosh Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Going to be a really difficult match this and I can't see us coming away with any points considering both team's current form. I think we'll need to be set up really well defensively and look to smash them on the counter with Ramires and Willian. BegovicDave -- Zouma -- Cahill -- Rahman RLC -- Matic Ramires -- Willian -- Traore Costa
Maksimov Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I can't see us coming away with any points considering both team's current form. Yeah, let's forfeit the match so it will be recorded only as a three-nil defeat to us...
yorkleyblue Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Spammers have been pretty dire at home, I don't think they have won one yet. Different story on the road, mind.
Droogba Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I'm looking forward to this. I think the lads will build on the Villa game and pull out the stops being away. It wasn't all good, but it wasn't all bad either, so I think this performance will be another notch up.

The Villa win wasn't spectacular by any means but there were definitely improvements as compared to the last few games. I'm hopeful of a win at Upton Park but I guess we'll have to see how things go at Kiev on Tuesday first.
Zola Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Not a nice game. They will raise their game, as they always try to against us. Expecting a rough game filled with fouls and anger.
ForeverCarefree Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 This is when we could do with Super Frank. He loved scoring against this lot.

Scott Harris Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 This will be tough, it will do our confidence a world of good if we can get a win.
splishsplosh Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 Yeah, let's forfeit the match so it will be recorded only as a three-nil defeat to us... Excuse me? Having an (understandable) lack of faith in the team up against a side who are currently doing well in the league doesn't mean I want to throw in the towel and concede. Way to go.
robdog Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 This is when we could do with Super Frank. He loved scoring against this lot. I believe what Motivated Supah Frank was the extra change that was thrown @ him & the chants of "Fat Frank". I am sure he loved to tell them to shove it, but Supah Frank did it w/ his play. Total Legend that will never be forgotten. Back to the matter of hand, let's wait for the journey to Kiev first to see how this match looks. IMHO it is a massive match to get back into contention for the Top 4.

I'm just bored of the doom mongering that seems to be trend on the forums these days. It's away at West Ham who have been poor at home this season. I don't see a reason why we wouldn't have a chance of getting at least a point from the match. Yes, we've been poor, but especially if we have a good match in Kiev tomorrow, I think we'll see an improved performance in the league as well.
The Leigh Limpet Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 A win would be great, but a draw would'nt be a disaster.

I apologise for misconstruing your previous comment. Chelsea are certainly capable of getting 3 points. I personally feel optimistic, but who really knows. Kiev will allow us to be better informed as to where the team stands.
cfcblue Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 1-1 ... is my prediction ... I think we will do well ... Hopefully, same defence line up as Villa.

Imran_CFC Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 We really need to start winning these kind of games if we want to make Champions League at the very least We need to make the most of the little momentum we have generated after the win against Villa-I don't care if we have to resort to negative tactics and park the bus and hit them on the counter.
Maksimov Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 We really need to start winning these kind of games if we want to make Champions League at the very least Or then we'll just have to win UCL again...
PloKoon13 Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Is Winston Reid injured? That's probably good news for us, I think he's an absolutely excellent defender, and would much rather we had to face Tomkins/Collins. Bilic has actually put a decent side together - now they've sorted out their weird discipline issues they were having at the beginning of the season I don't think they've lost in the league since August. I'm a bit concerned about this one, they will be a far tougher prospect than Villa, hopefully we can build some form with a good performance in Kiev.
ForeverCarefree Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Victor Moses not being able to play is a huge plus for us.
PloKoon13 Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 That's a good point, I'm not sure who they'll use as an alternative either - maybe go three in the middle and push Payet forward? I suppose Zarate could play there, although I can't imagine them dropping Lanzini considering the form he's currently in. Maybe something like: Adrian Jenkinson Collins Tomkins Cresswell Noble Obiang Kouyaté Lanzini Payet Sakho
Chelsbear Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 We will almost certainly struggle in this one.
EmeraldBlue Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 I don't know anything about Kiev and really find it difficult to predict how Chelsea will play at the moment. I do tend to start with eager anticipation and expectation of a win (despite any evidence sometimes) so I'll go for a win!
Van Butsen Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Spammers have been pretty dire at home, I don't think they have won one yet. Different story on the road, mind. Easily accounted for Newcastle 2-0. Moses was great and Payet scored two. I think we can definitely score 1 or 2.. it will just be about stopping them scoring I think. Probably a covert Mourinho operation here, absorb the pressure, hit them on the break. I hope we go out in the first 15 minutes with a bang and put a couple in.
