Very tough game, until now West Ham won against the top clubs in England, but we shouldn't be in that list. I really hope he will aim to win that one, every win means a lot to us. A lot of effort, work rate and motivation needed for that game, a better team will win in this battle.

I'd stick with last nights line up.

Well, further to my original doom-mongering post, I now have a lot more confidence after watching the display last night. I think we were unlucky not to have won 3 or 4-0. Great defensively, good offensively. It looked much more like the Chelsea of early last season. 

 

I'll be optimistic and go West Ham 0-2 Chelsea.

Jose shouldn't bring back Baba into the starting line up for this because they are very good on the wings.

And its a big advantage for us that Moses wont be available for them, they will surely miss him. My problem is: Can Ramires or Matic stop Payet from having a good day? I dont think so, but am optimistic we can get something from this if we play Zouma Cahill Terry Dave in the defence.

I am actually glad that we are playing them at their place, because on the road they have been somewhat of a force.

 

Wondering if we'll see Hazard as he again looked a little off the pace on Tuesday and Jose seemed to single him out in comments about defending.

 

I think we may see the Matic, RLC, Ramires midfield, with WIllian and Pedro.

 

I hope we go with the back four of Azpi, Cahill, Terry, Baba

 

However, that means that Fabregas would not play, and I can't see that happening.  So RLC will be on the bench and we may see:

We'll have to watch Payet closely. He has been assisting and scoring regularly and is bound to cause problems for us if we let him do his thing.

 

Jenkinson has also scored 2 goals in his last 2 games and both were from cut-in runs from the right. Not their main threat but still someone to be wary of.

 

This'll be a tough game and our lads must show more effort and desire to win this.

 

Can they do it? I believe they can, let's make it 2 wins out of 2 PL games!

So far KDB looks a completely different player than he did when he was with us - brief though his chances were. I'm loathe to criticise Jose but it doesn't seem that spotting potential and bringing young players through is one of his strengths. I'm sure lots of people will pop up with examples to counter that view. Certainly the players he has let go in recent years, Mata, KDB and Lukaku could all have done a job for us if Mourinho was prepared to build a different team.

 

I think we looked a lot better in Kiev and that we'll carry that on this Saturday. It'll be tough but we can win.

Cahill had a tough time against Pelle last time he started, he won't have it easy with Caroll. I feel Zouma's strength and height will be more effective. We need to play proper fullbacks, stuffing around CB at FB, RB at LB are killing us both defensively and offensively. We have Ramires to cover Baba, Azpi doesn't need much help playing his natural position.

I have real concerns over this one, west ham are looking to make that big push over next few years with everything thats going on over there, one big win will really help them and as were flopping at the moment, we are probably there prime targets, or at least thats how i would think as a west ham manager/owner

If we show the same defensive solidity in the kiev game we can win this.

Rare sight midweek with Cesc being taken off. Evidently one of the first names in Jose's squads at the moment, but I wonder if that signals he may be the next one rotated out as we look to rediscover form.
