  1. This Liverpool defence is dodgy and has no protection in midfield
  2. Season starts tonight. Most families would have bought their jerseys already. I just don’t see how announcing a FOS sponsor in the middle of the season helps the club or sponsors. I do wonder if the club will offer fans free FOS printing when it’s finally announced.
  3. Wouldn’t be too sure. He got back into the French side earlier last season, and I felt he would have pushed for an exit if he was serious. With the way PSG’s season played out, the rebirth of Dembele, and the emergence of Doue, I feel a pathway back into the French side has ended. Everything points to him being a backup to his suitors ideal target. That doesn’t sound like someone who is interested in taking a pay cut.
  4. Murillo is an enigma; I feel he is a decent CB with no outstanding qualities who looks very good in a counterattacking Forest side, but would look average in a top side. Find it odd CBs have been on the move to top sides in the PL but no one has bothered to put in a bid for him. On
  5. I feel the club counted on these players desire to play football would force them to take a pay cut and switch clubs, but these present generation of footballers are different. It’s a World Cup year and potentially the last for Sterling and Chilwell but there is zero desire to go somewhere else for game time and force themselves into Tuchel’s thinking. I can see the trio of Sterling, Chilwell and Nkunku seeing out their contracts and walking for free.
  6. ThInk Ederson just doesn’t feel valued by City, and he has forced their hands. He apparently has had a contract offer on the table since last summer but hasn’t signed it. He is now entering the last 12mths of his contract. Galatasaray are offering £7m which is laughable, but City want £13m.
  7. Crazier things have happened in this market, even though I don’t think he is Newcastle bound. Seems Donnarumma has agreed a deal with City which is bizarre considering they just bought James Trafford for £27m from Burnley, which was a weird deal but they apparently saw him as their long term No 1. If that goes through they now need to get rid of both Ortega and Ederson before the window closes. The Ederson situation is nuts because he is the perfect Pep goalie, and apparently wants out because he does feel valued wage wise. Now signing Donnarumma who is poor with his feet and on ridiculous wages makes no sense. Most of City’s signings since the Halaand signing have made little sense, and makes you wonder if Pep is losing his mind.
  8. Those don’t exist any more. Huijsen would have been perfect but we dithered and allowed Madrid to swoop in. Not even sure club sees him as a future first team player. He was just bought to prevent any other PL team having him. They are going to do the same with Emegha before the season ends, and got rebuffed by Doukoure
  9. No one is paying £80m for Jackson. Recent briefing is they have dropped the fee to the £50m they received for Madueke, and they are convinced he is worth double the £32m they paid for him. Big issue here is like most of their signings, they overpaid at £32m.
  10. Senior sources at Stamford Bridge say that Jackson will be reintegrated into Maresca’s squad after the deadline if no transfer materialises. Chelsea are not desperate to sell him. what could go wrong?
  11. Was thinking about that; heard Darwin Nunez is getting £500k/w. Surely Jackson must be considering his options.
  12. League starts in 6 days, still no FOS sponsor.
  13. He will be an interesting watch this season especially as it seems he will be playing deeper. Crashing the box further upfield masks a lot of his flaws.
  14. Wouldn’t be sure about the former. Looks lost and awful in the “10” role.
  15. In the minority here but I rate George highly. He just needs mins. He started the move for our first goal also. The difference in Gitten, Garnacho & George is mins. Give him the mins they have had in their respective clubs, and he is probably the better player.
  16. Well said.. they can’t even if they wanted to with UEFA already warning both teams against dodgy dealings.
  17. Always knew there was no way he was going to stay as 3rd choice. Best for both parties, but his options aren’t really good. Newcastle are about to sign Wissa, so that leaves only the Italians who love a loan deal.
  18. They are not buying Emegha as a squad player, it’s the same bizarre Sarr transfer where they are buying him just so it reads “contracted to Chelsea” on the paperwork, but they will loan him straight back to Strasbourg. The belief is if they buy him now for €30m they won’t fall foul of UEFA as per connected parties fair value transactions, and he might be worth €50m next season.
  19. They are desperate but have options; even lots of them. Jackson even though a decent forward hasn’t shown that he can lead the line for a top club. With Sesko & Etikite a large chunk of their value is on the “unknown”. It could go either way. No club is paying £80m for Jackson. Newcastle have options; Wissa is on strike and valued at £40m, they could pay £60m for Watkins. Those two are more of a sure bet than Jackson. They are currently negotiating for Woltemade who is valued at €55m. Scraping the barrel; they could loan either Ramos from PSG, or Vlhaovic from Juve with an option to buy, and Boniface at Leverkusen is available. I can guarantee you they will explore those options before Jackson, and even then wouldn’t pay £80m.
  20. Yeah the £65m mark sounds like a sweet spot. You just hope they don’t do something silly like pricing him out of a limited market like they did Nkunku in Jan, and currently doing with Veiga. Jackson isn’t an £80m player, and no one is paying that.
  21. Not convinced he is. Any one who watches Utd’s games will tell you he doesn’t have a footballing brain. If fans thought Madueke was a nightmare, wait till you see Garnacho in Blue. I also dont understand the clamouring for Chelsea when you look at the options we have in direct competition with him, you would think a player in his situation would be looking at clubs where he would be guaranteed a starting role. He might actually be the player where this whole “financial situation” starts backfiring. We will definitely be at a minimum doubling his Utd wages, and give him one of those 7yr deals. Just wait till he pulls a Sterling/Sancho on the club.
  22. Are you sure? He has been loaned for half a season to a relegated Portuguese team, came back wasn’t deemed good enough for a squad role, loaned out again to a relegated La Liga team. Well he will need to get games and see loads of mins to develop. Caicedo is 1st name on the team sheet, so bar the Cup games & CL against low opposition I can’t see where the mins will come from. Baleba at Brighton is the next big midfielder, and the closest to Caicedo.
  23. Is Essugo better though? I don’t think so. He is just the new flashy thing, we could have saved the money and brought back Ugochukwu from loan instead in Jan.
  24. He is the one player I reckon could be brilliant if he puts it all together. Can’t blame him for it not working out here, club never had a plan.
  25. Problem is that £60m becomes £45m in Jan; might even be less if isn’t playing regularly and is kicking up a fuss in a World Cup year. Club needs
