I have to agree. Mikel is an okay holding midfielder but we need better.

He defines mediocrity. If they have spent 7-10 million on him it's a laughable waste of money. Doesn't improve upon their current options.

Wait, were you watching the same game as the rest of us? Spurs midfield three (Dembele, Parker, Livermore) were dominating possession - and the game - against the Scousers' duo of Lucas and Gerrard. Seemed an obvious substitution to try and match them 3 vs. 3, and it worked for them as they gained parity and won the game... Anyway, lovely to see Spurs sh*t the bed.

I'm not actually sure. The BBC article from the day Danny signed said he signed a 4 year deal (back in June '09) which would suggest he's expiring at the end of the season.
