  1. hey guys anyone know anything about the rumours saying Lukaku is coming to EFC on loan?
  2. Set pieces are about the only thing we are any good at tbh, so you better get practicing
  3. we always seem to raise our game against the bigger teams so it should be interesting, and now Rodwells ridiculous red card has been withdrawn, he could be key, i can see him being stuck to Rameries, which will be a good contest tbh, i dont want Cahill upfront, id like to see Vellios, he will cause Terry problems, but Moyes will never start him, and Drenthe would be a good starter as i know some of you guys have suggested a weakness at right back i look forward to it
  4. personally, i think this is a good idea, and i think this it what Liverpool Council are angling at, they dont seem to be too happy about both clubs having new stadiums, i think they would rather push both teams into some joint super stadium, but we will see, the other lot have recently had their latest proposal rejected for some silly reason, so they have gone right back to the drawing board
  5. Well Goodison has a number of problems tbh, fist thing and most important one is that there are still large areas of certain stands where it is restricted viewing, due to pillars and posts etc etc, also there is a long standing rumour that the area is suffering from subsidence, the area of Everton itself is a rough area of the city, and borders on other rough areas, the stands themselves are outdated as are the minimal corporate facilities and inadequate media space, it has a capacity of just over 40000 if i remember correctly, we could sustain 50,000 no problem i reckon, however due to the current situation under the Kenwright regime, so far this season numbers are down with a lot of people not willing to give blue Bill anymore money Im surprised tbh at how split you guys are over a new stadium, i thought you would be all for it, but at the same time i can understand the reservations, i hope you get what you want, i think the only saving grace is that Roman will want something pretty damm special, you just know it
  6. how many fans due you guys think you can get each week? they are taking the piss on the radio saying you dont need this as you will never fill the stadium? @Davey Baby: Kirkby was never an option for us tbh, it was before that mate, The Kings Dock saga, thats what really pissed the fans off, especially when you go past now and see that there is an arena there, which should have been our stadium, the KD is what first made the fans question Kenwright, as he told us that the money for it was ringfenced and safe and in the bank at 9 am the following morning, and im sure i dont need to spell out the rest for you.....
  7. Barkley is a much better player than Rodwell, he is most like Gerrard but with a bit more close control on the ball, eventually i can see him in the Cahill role behind a striker, what you need to remember though is that he is 17 and just recovering from a triple leg break!! thats why he has'nt play loads this season, but he is the future for us, no doubt, and he has recently been promoted from U-19's U21's for England so he is progressing in the right way, it will the usual keeping hold of him that will be the issue, which is a huge concern for us at the moment as we have a few promising youngsters waiting for their chance, but soon as they play they will be off as we cant afford to keep hold of them
  8. its an ongoing issue tbh, square pegs in round holes, it just seems his way tbh, Coleman is NOT a midfielder, he's a right back, but we have no one else to play right hand side of midfield, as for Billy, well we would be better off with Gueye, young French player,Billy is useless tbh, but Moyes seems to have gone off him, and he's not even making the squad at the moment. i noticed a few peoples answers to one of the questions about Everton players they would like to see, Rodwell has a mixed feeling among the evertonians, he's very in and out, if you all want him, you are welcome to him imo lol, we will keep Barkley, he IS the new Gerrard and then some.
  9. no its been like that for a while mate, Jags needs benching, we have a Dutch international in Heitinga on the bench who should be in the team, Distin makes Jags look better than he is, same as when Jags played with Lescott, dont get me wrong he is good, but he seems to thrive on confidence, and he has none at the moment
  10. well thanks for all your answers so far guys, had a good read of that and some interesting points there, thank you for participating :)
  11. Hello, Im from the website http://www.toffeetalk.com, i was hoping you guys here could help me with a series of questions ahead of the match. I have been round here for a few days now, and would like to say thanks, as i have been made to feel very welcome, so feel free to visit us at tt, as we also welcome other fans, even Liverpool fans!!! 1.Andre Villas-Boas, second spell at the club, although this time as a manager, he's very young but has a good pedigree, Mourinho, Robson, he has had massive success in a short space of time in Portugal, what was the initial reaction to his appointment? 2.Roman, has a slight obsession with winning the Champions League, yet its important for Chelsea to get a foothold over their northern counterparts who seem to be taking control at the moment, what do you think AVB brief was when he signed up, CL or make Chelsea strong domestically and build and replace the slightly aging team? 3.How do Chelsea line up now under AVB? is it much different to the way Ancelotti played? and do you like/prefer it? 4.What have you made of your new signings, Mata is an excellent player, what about the rest? 5.Was Torres worth the hassle? i read a post on here the other day, a few of you seemed to think that maybe tactics were being setup to be all about putting the ball through for him, whats the verdict? lets be honest, do you really want cast-offs from "the sh*te" 6.Originally i was going to ask if you thought Lampard had seen better days, but then he went and scored 3 at the weekend, so clearly he still has some life in him, but for how long, he has been such a key figure, and would be difficult to replace 7.Are there any Everton players you would like to see in the Chelsea line up, i know Chelsea have been linked with our latest talent Ross Barkley, possible replacement for Lampard? 8.Who is the most important player in the Chelsea Team? and why so? 9.Can you offer a genuine threat to the 2 Manc clubs?(personally i hope so) 10.And talk of a new ground must boost everyone at the moment, you are the last big team to move? 11.All Clubs must eventually become self sufficient soon with the new rules, do you think the Roman will stop bankrolling the club at some point, it can't go on forever. 12.What do you think about Everton as a club and their manager David Moyes? 13.How do you see the relationship between the 2 sets of fans? 14.Do you feel sorry for Everton in their current situation, struggling financially to compete with the others? 15.The game against Everton coming up, last time Beckford scored a cracker, and pretty much nailed Carlo's coffin shut, how do you see it going this time round? 16.What will be your strengths and weaknesses that Everton should watch out for? 17.What do you think the final score will be when the teams play? 18.Where do you think both teams will finish this season? Thats enough to go on with now i think, i will use a variety of answers so the more varied the better, i would once again like to thank everybody for making me welcome, and too those who take the time to answer my questions, its greatly appreciated. i will certainly be staying a member round here, and please come and say hello over on http://www.toffeetalk.com(i am over there as "The Prisoner") we even have a games arcade thankyou
  12. no, their across the park mate, i can point you in the direction if you want :)
  13. i have to say ive never been majorly impressed, he's good no doubt about that, but the figures banded around for him, id expect a lot more for my money than that
  14. yeah, it was a shame tbh, whole game ruined by the ref, we were doing ok up until then, also Suarez a known diver/cheat (remember the world cup everybody) and the ref still could'nt wait to wave his magic red in the air, tw*t was impressed by you guys yesterday though, its made me re-think some of my questions slightly
  15. thing was though, previous to them was Mike Parry and Mike Graham, which was probably the best show on talksport, and they got the boot to stick those two muppets on, i can't stand Keys and Grey, Andy Grey is a manc loving tw*t and Richard Keys tries to make out like he is an expert on everything, but if you listen to him he constantly trips himself up with his own arguments/points
  16. well as far as a new owner is concerned, its seemingly because St Bill of Kenwright isn't quite the blue he makes out to be, the main problem is that Bill wants 3 times what the club has been independently valued at, then someone to pay the £40m of debt we have on top of it, so basically anyone coming in will need to shell out £150m, then that person would almost straight away thrown money at a stadium, although they pay for themselves over time, so overall it needs someone with mega money Barkley is the real deal, even after a triple leg break he had a year ago, he is the new Gerrard but with a better close control, Mancs have been sniffing around him since he was about 13-14, Rodwell, i know what you mean there, im not a fan tbh, and i know many others who have mixed feelings bout him, problem is, Moyes has this habit of playing everybody out of position, so like last week, put him in the right place, in the centre and he's class, but Moyes puts him out on the right sometimes and it makes him look like he's never kicked a ball, as he has no real pace to play there, same with Coleman, he is a fullback, Moyes would rather play him on the right hand side of midfield even though he has no crossing ability whatsoever
  17. haha, yeah thanks, i like to broaden my horizons and i like the look of this forum a lot
  18. i think he's chosen to play for Germany, although im not 100% sure about that
  19. thankyou i hope to stick around, i like the look of this forum
  20. well i know many of the Reds fans were surprised Meireles left, i always thought he looked a good player tbh, and i think he will do better with better players around him, but i do agree, the Modric price was getting to silly levels, Modric is never worth £40m, Gotze the german kid looks good, but i doubt he'd come cheap either, and if you are looking for a winger have a look at the Everton supporting Lewis Holtby half english/german, many of us would like him as he is a blue through and through, but he is out of our price range sadly and as for tomorrow, it all depends on who the fantahead picks tbh, but we are fairly strong at home and i think if we can hold it till half time, we can beat them tbh, Vellios will come on and save the day in the last 10 mins
  21. as a neutral in this (im an Everton Fan) i think the money you would have to pay for Modric could be better spent and you could find a better player in that position, what about Canales on-loan at Valencia from Real, he looked good the other night and ive seen him play before a few times and he's a decent player and would cost far less than Modric
  22. what size of ball do you play with? would playing with a smaller ball and learning to control it better and keep hold of it, surely that would increase player confidence as each player becomes more comfortable on the ball
  23. Hello People, im from the site http://www.toffeetalk.com im here in peace and im preparing a series of questions hopefully you guys can help me out with, just stuff to do with how the season is going and what you expect from it all the usual, i will wait till after this weekends fixtures before i post them though Hope Your All Having A Good Day
