Back to action. No Torres once again, but at least he is getting international practice. Time for Josh to get some more game time. Meireles to get a rest.

I'd like to see Lampard play and therefore we could give Terry a rest and try Ivan and Luiz as the back two.

Not sure who else has had a lot of work at internationals?

As usual a must win game because Manc of all forms are doing well.

Let's go Chelsea.

Changed time to "correct" UK timezone. :)

Would prefer this as our starting lineup

Cech

Bosingwa-Ivan-JT-Cole

Ramires - Meireles - Lampard

Sturridge - Drogba - Mata

The Toffees away is always sticky, they have nothing in attack to speak of but they gave City a good work out and Liverpool until the sending off. In the last couple of seasons we have somehow of made a meal of this game and given away stupid goals when we should be running out comfortable winners. IMO 2-1 to the Blues but don't be surprised if we manage to throw two points away.

Its 17:30 BST. I think he's posted the Australian time.

It's not a huge deal, but could someone please fix the title of the post, so that the time is BST.

As for the match itself... It might be the first match in a while that I might be able to watch. I'll be at work on Saturday, but as the kick off is 19:30(Finnish time), I should be at home in time for it.

I'm expecting a tight match as these matches always tend to be. Especially after international breaks.

Not a huge deal maybe, but ridiculous to post kickoff time for an English team playing in the English Premier League on a UK based forum in anything other than local UK time. The only possible justification for posting non-UK kickoff times would be if we were on tour somewhere, then it may possibly be acceptable, if not exactly helpful, to post the kickoff in local time.

Anyone think I'm wrong about this? Maybe you should start posting new match threads with the time in CET, rahul should use Indian Standard time, and American members should begin match threads using whichever one of the nine time zones they happen to inhabit. Oh yes that would help.

Back to the game. As mentioned elsewhere, Everton have a nasty habit of raising their game against us, more so at Goodison but to some extent also at the Bridge. They'll have another reason to raise their game, feeling they have something to prove perhaps, and still smarting from the injustice of the Rodwell sending off which undeniably changed the course of the game against you know who.

Why would I post a match thread with the time in CET? It's a UK based forum for a UK based football club and my timezone is BST+2(or maybe that should be GMT+3). Besides, I asked for someone to change the title of the thread to match the BST time zone, anyway.

I thought it was pretty obvious that I was being sarcastic. How can you not read this as sarcasm, especially in light of the preceding paragraph?

I read it as a sarcastic comment, but not sarcastic in the way you intended.

Well maybe you should have read the entire post instead of picking on a couple of sentences out of context.

Ok. I'll make it easy. This is the second time in a row ozboy has started a match thread using Australian time. I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds it annoying.Last time it was changed, and I imagine it's only a matter of time before it'll be changed again.

If ozboy wishes to continue posting kickoff times in Aussie local time, then I suggest he should do so in Aussie forum.

Ok. I'll make it easy.

I'll make it real easy for you as well. The next time you have a problem with ozboy, target your post at him, and not my post. Simple enough. :happy001:

Targeted at you? I don't think you're a stupid person but in this instance you are being remarkably dense.

It seems I need to explain.

First paragraph: Here I describe the decision to post kickoff in Australian times as ridiculous. I elaborate by describing what I think is the acceptable circumstance where it may be acceptable, if not exactly helpful.

Second paragraph: I start by asking if anyone thinks I'm wrong. I then go on to cite CET as one of 11 possible time zones (nine US, one Indian) that members could use. There are of course more time zones, but I'm sure you'll agree this is more than enough to make the point of how ridiculous it is for anyone to post, and here I quote myself:"kickoff time for an English team playing in the English Premier League on a UK based forum in anything other than local UK time". I conclude this paragraph with with "Oh yes that would help." Not exactly subtle but sufficient to emphasise the sarcastic nature and meaning of the entire paragraph.

There's also the little fact that I clicked the "Like" button for your preceding post, which in no uncertain terms, tells you that I was agreeing with you.

I don't get any notification if someone likes my post(s) and I don't go around looking if someone has done so. Ok, so we agree. Let's move on.

I'm guessing you must be using a mobile theme, because you don't need notification or to go looking - because on desktop theme, a yellow rectangle on the post in question informs of everyone who's liked that particular post. You can't miss it.

But anyway. Let's agree to agree.

Bloody hell put the handbags away lads.

We always seem to have a tough time against Everton. I would definatley go with a strong team.

Cech

Ivan-Luiz-JT-Cole

Miereles

Ramires-Lampard

Sturridge-Drogba-Mata

That would be my team but i wouldnt be surprised to see Bo start ahead of Ivan.

3.30AM eh ozboy? Bloody hell, daylight savings is murderous when it comes to the times for league matches. That's nearly in the go to bed and get back up category.

Anyway this is always a bit of a bogey match for us these days. Let's hope that AVB has something up his sleeve to change our fortunes a bit.

Cech, Bosingwa, Luiz, Terry, Cole, Mikel, Ramires, Lampard, Mata, Drogba, Sturridge.

That was almost amusing! Brollies at dawn next. Can I be second for both parties? Even better the "maitre" with the power to shoot both if needed

The Toffees away is always sticky, .

It's at the Bridge not away but toffees home can be sticky too

Not a 4 all draw again!!

There was actually some noise in the West Stand that day

we always seem to raise our game against the bigger teams so it should be interesting, and now Rodwells ridiculous red card has been withdrawn, he could be key, i can see him being stuck to Rameries, which will be a good contest tbh, i dont want Cahill upfront, id like to see Vellios, he will cause Terry problems, but Moyes will never start him, and Drenthe would be a good starter as i know some of you guys have suggested a weakness at right back

i look forward to it

The good news is that Drogba played for Ivory Coast 2 days ago. The bad news is that he only played a half.

It was obvious against Bolton that he lacked match sharpness and also possibly match fitness. He looked slow and out of touch, although his passing was again very good.

It's a good thing this is a home match.

Did someone fart when Everton scored the 4th?
