My national team are sh*te, so this WC I am watching...
Yeah you right about the African aspects, but, I must say that most African teams are getting some things right now, for some 2 years now, there have a massive improvement in the structure of the FAs. Now teams are building gradually with young squad planning for the future. I have been following most of the teams in the playoffs for World cup and generally it has been good. My country for example was faltering and the new coach was appointed, he dropped the old men, those that had no pride playing for the shirt, those that thought they must play without fighting for the shirt and trouble makers and began building with some of the U-20 boys and some that haven't made the national team before. The result, we play a more exciting and attractive attacking football and won the AFCON to boot, you know when he had to drop Yobo for Kenneth Omeruo, that was not welcome by most initially, but it paid off. It was a risk worth taking. England needs to adopt the same approach, drop the ever present players, apart from one or two, pick the outstanding youth players, and then some good players all over the whole football, get them to play with purpose and with their heart, get a good motivator, begin by playing attractive and attacking football. The result may not come immediately, but once you have these young group of players expressing themselves and playing with a view to win despite whoever the opposition and circumstance is, the story will definitely change.

MOTM vs Everton (A) (PL)
It's so unreal many of us wanted him out by all means during the last transfer window. He was great today, I must say.

This team v double team?
Ws6blue. Mikel played majority of the games in the double winning season. Ballack didn't play as a DM in all 38 games. You just generalized it.

Demba Ba
Well, we are stuck with Ba. Let's see what happens from here.

Ya, there are, u'd probably find at least one in most streets. Didn't fancy watching at home, so the pub for this night. And about the 3pm games, I must say we're lucky down here, 80% of games are shown live each week, and 3pm kick-offs are always shown live.

The way am seeing this, Man U look like the team likely to score, this team looks out of sync.

Willian
I have a feeling that if we let Moses go, we will soon rue the need of a direct pacey winger who won't crowd the middle like the others.
-
Willian
Well, I don't think that's the case, I know most of Nigerian papers reported he had a stomach bug, just before the last international friendly, which obviously kept him out, don't know the extent, but am sure it might be hasn't featured at all. I guess he's still to hit full fitness. But, I expect him to play a part soon enough.
-
Willian
^Only that Carrick only came into his own last season, the seasons before, he's been pretty average.
-
Willian
Pick out RvP from the team and his goals and then calculate who'd have been the champions instead. Their winning the league is just a testimony of having a great striker and a manager who believes in winning at all costs, not cus they have a great midfield.

I actually, I don't know where the Mikel is on his way out came from, perhaps people have already sold him in their mind, due to paper rumours. I reckon if he's being sold, he must have been gone by now, and we'd have bought a capable enough replacement for him. However, he's still our player, until he officially gets sold, And to someone saying Mikel wouldn't get into Man U's midfield, I think you are having a laugh, perhaps you rate Cleverly over him..another example of overhyped player. I'd take Mikel over Carrick and Cleverly anyday, no wonder their midfield is played off the park by any average midfield.

3 from many
Real headache, this. I trust Jose tho to sort it out, but not without one or two players playing less and less as the season goes on.

Demba Ba
What if he becomes worse than Ba? Or he doesn't just fit in at the age of 32?

Oh and you seem contented with Torres trying sh*t and falling over so many times. Ba was scoring goals for Newcastle when we bought him, it's not as if he doesn't know how to score, he scored a brace in his debut game and since then it's been downhill. It maybe because of the way we play or something else. Ba is not much of a skillful player, but I think if he would score lots if he play in a team that their play is striker oriented. Lukaku scored doubles figures for West Brom, I doubt he'd score that much for us, it's one thing to be upset at our strikers not scoring, but I don't blame them so much, when you have a midfield that enjoys playing the ball within themselves and have the main striker drag the defenders out for them to score, sincerely I don't see any striker we have scoring that much. Lukaku gon score lots but I don't see him scoring more than 15 epl goals when the emphasis is bring the 3 behind them into play. As much as I enjoy watching our creative trio pass and run around with ball, I want them to be more striker oriented. Back to the Ba issue, yesterday's performance is one the worst I have seen Ba play, but when you have an unfit Mata and Lampard hitting those countless long balls over to him, I don't think any striker will have the best of games. When Lukaku came in, one of the things he had going for him is the ability to bully and overrun any defender, but Ba to a lesser extend doesn't have this ability, it was always going to be hard for him to do much. He's a striker who likes to play off the shoulder of the last defender, and then hit the goal when the ball is fed to him, to be honest, he got no reasonable service yesterday. People have given Torres the leeway and still willing to give him more,, but this same people hate the sight of a man who you know on a good day will score amazing goals, and against the big teams. If only Ba was the 50m man, I doubt people would want him gone without a proper run in the team. The season just started most of our players haven't reached full fitness and Ba is no exception.

Chelsea v Aston Villa (PL) 21/08/13 KO 19:45 BST
I wouldn't mind Moses to stretch them a bit, we play so narrowly through the middle, and honestly it's not working. Oh thank goodness, Lukaku is on.
