  1. cash + torres at end of season for costa would be win win for all parties.
  2. The one thing about this transfer it has made me lose a little bit of respect for mourinho. i think it has shown he is stubborn and arrogant. Firstly even before they had met there were lots of storries about mourinho not liking mata and i assumed it was media bs trying to attack chelsea. Then mata wasn’t playing at the start of the season and the papers continued that mou did not like mata but he claimed that mata was resting as he had a long season. Then he said oscar was his n10, which was weird thing to announce in public. Then when mata got games he was often hooked off after x min’s and then dropped next game, whilst there have been bad performances from oscar/hazard this season also but they did not get the same treatment and often played 90mins next week. Then the bs excuse that Mata does not work back enough? nor did hazard at the start of the season or last season but still played 90mins every week and given the chance to adapt. Now we have sold him to a rival. I believe this confirms that Mata’s fate was sealed from the day mou returned. (still love mourinho thou )
  3. not sure its just this season we've seemed so toothless. last year vs fulham, man city under fsw , then before that west brom, stoke and qpr under rdm and most season with avb.
  4. this game would be ideal for lukaku, its a final against a big team that is really also just a friendly so perfect to test lukaku's metal.
  5. i dont understand why lukaku has not started yet makes no sense
  6. true, but we were lucky and dominated over two legs and could not get much of the ball. so in terms of general play i would say barcalona games show that we struggle with getting and keeping the ball with lamps cdm
  7. i dont think lampard does a great job in cdm when we are playing a team who will dominate possession
  8. i expect man u and city to go through but they will have to work hard to come first, so hopefully it will give us an advantage in the league if we can wrap up the group in the first 4 games.
  9. finally it looks like we will get our "Robinho" after all
  10. not sure where willian thinks he will fit in the pecking order as he is a player who only has had 2 caps for Brazil 2 years ago and only scored 16 goals since 09 in eastern European leagues.
  11. in terms of value for money this has to be one of our worst transfers, we are stacked in the attacking midfield position and 35m for a player who is not world class and will likely warm the bench is just wrong, not only does it waste of our budget for a striker but also maintains the player price inflation.
  12. hopefully, however when things are reported this intensely its rarely all fabricated. for example the KDB situation there was lots of teams interested in him, same with luiz to barca mourinho admitted we rejected bids from them.
  13. makes little sense spending 35m (only 15m less than torres) on a replacement for a player that cant get on the bench. Willian is also inexperienced and dare i say not as good as our other midfielders (mata, hazard, oscar, schurle and kdb). Also if 35m is spent on a bench warmer where is the cash going to come from for a new striker? chelsea's actions in the cavani, falcao and rooney transfers suggest limited funds also gourley has mentioned recently about how difficult it is to balance books for ffp. buying willian will be one of our worst transfers ever then if rumors are to be believed and a cash + mata deal for rooney will be the worst in PL history.
  14. also mikel sale will not recoup 30m. possible mikel, ba and moses sale will. but to lose 3 players to bring in a player only as good as moses seems pointless
  15. doubt it willian since 09 - 16 goals in Ukrainian/ Russian league ivanovich since 09 14 pl goals
  16. do chelsea have the money to spend 30m on an rotational player and 40m on a striker. i dont think they do otherwise we could have got either cavani or falcao. if we sign willian and still want rooney we will have to sell.
  17. 30m for a player with 2 international caps and only 16 league goals since 09 in a crap league
  18. chelsea just have to p*** me off at least once each season. 30m for a player who is at best marginaly better than moses and is 3 years older.
  19. i cant understand a mata plus cash bid for rooney. mata is younger, better form, longer time left on contract and cheaper wages. in the current climate i would value rooney at 25-30 million because only two years left on contract, doesn't want to play, stupid wages. whereas in a world where bale = 90m , suarez's offer of 40m offer was described as an insult and willian for 30m mata has to be worth 40+ to any team
  20. if true worst news possible. Chelsea are being careful with money this season in order to balance books for ffp etc. this has been shown with reluctance to sign Falcao, cavani and small bids for Rooney. So it makes angry to think that we would spend good money on another attacking midfielder, not only that but at 30 million is very poor value for money. if This is true could mean two things both disastrous, first we spend 30m on willian and buy no one else this summer or we buy willian as a replacement for mata in a rooney transfer. if the second is true that has to be the worst value for money since torres for 50m or even ibrahimovich's transfer to barca.
  21. i may be seeing this too simplistically but isn't Romans money no longer as important to Chelsea since we are starting to make our own money that covers expenditure. with FFP clubs wont be able to get individuals to use their own cash to allow clubs overspend like before. As far as i understand chelsea unlike some clubs have no debt thanks to roman and even if he pulled out tomorrow all Chelsea will have to do is not spend more than we earn and we will be fine, which is what we did last year anyways.
  22. as far as i understand Roman is rich enough to forget about the money he has spent on the club, and as Chelsea seem to be reaching a financial balance it would make no sense for him to give up on Chelsea if we can maintain a break-even year on year
  23. the good thing about rooney is that he can play in the attacking midfield 3 behind lukaku if needed
  24. yea i see where your coming from but there fees have been paid and accounted for last season or the one before so does not effect our profit/loss for this season, which is important for ffp. also the costing element of my point wasn't really my focus but rather how much better our team will be come Hull at home compared to Wigan away last year.
