I thought there was a few passes that looked obvious between those players that were ignored. I won't be reading much into it atm as I'm sure every game between all teams you will fine one or two missed opportunities for the perfect pass etc (always easier to see the right option from the TV). there is definitely something wrong with our set up. these are some example of big games where we were 1-0 up and ended up drawing: City away 1-1, Man U away 1-1, City Home 1-1, Pool away (cup) 1-1, Psg away 1-1, Psg home 1-1 (90mins), Psg home 1-1(et).

i think that was one of the most cowardly performances I've ever seen. there is a big difference between seeing out a result (hard work, ball control, game management, takes large skill) and trying to sit back and win the game by default(little skill, reliance on luck, no game management, backing off, no pressure, walking pace, hoping opposition don't score before the ref blows his whistle). This game was similar to the Man U and City game but much worse. Because A) they had 10 men for 90+ mins B) we knew a draw was not a point won but a tie lost (except 0-0) C) we were at home and D) we were bitten once with the luiz goal and did not learn our lesson when we were 2-1 up in ET leading to the silva goal.

The whole "too many foreign players" argument is so cheap and easy used by people to hide the fact English players are not good enough because of grass root failings. i wonder what those who blame England’s disappointments on foreigners think of England’s failure to qualify for a major between 1970-1982 and 1994?

schurrle 18m 6/10- average season willian 30 4/10- i was disappointed when we went for him in the summer, he has never done anything in his career to justify a 30m price tag (barley an international cap and never achieved high returns in a very weak leagues). The signing stank of an abramovich buy (little coincidence that we bought two anzi players when romans friend and anzi owner needed the cash). In all fairness he is a hard worker and defensive asset, however for 30m you expect a hell of a lot more. matic 21 7.5/10 did well in most games, but being ineligible in CL limited his usefulness this season, should be really good next year eto'o 2m 6/10 good value for money, however if his arrival meant lukkaku forced a loan, his signing may be slightly regrettable. salah 11 - 4/10 not seen a lot of him, it looks like a panic buy and maybe we could have used the 11m better in the summer. Overall our transfer business was disappointing. Just to think if we used the 18m & 30m from the schurrle+willian transfers on a world class striker and also just kept Mata I think we could have been PL champions

When a player gets fouled in the box denying a goal scoring opportunity the offending player only gets a yellow. Since giving a penalty reinstates the goal scoring opportunity, so a sending off as well is unnecessary (keep red card if outside box). Also the way injury time is calculated is so crude it’s unbelievable, I would like a more accurate system that gives all games the same playing time.

The media after the game, later in MOTD and subsequent match reports have all failed to mention how the Larson challenge on ramires and foul given against matic (denying us a goal) were almost identical.

if you win the title then you deserve it, if you dont win then you dont deserve end of. a win for pool tommorow and they only need 4 points out of 9 to finish above us. however dropped points and we are back to pre city v sunderland league standings. we are still in the title race!
