dannydee Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Dont what anyone else thinks but... I believe we are missing Claude Makele. We look a different team out there now and I dont like it. Lampard is brilliant as is JT but I cant help feeling with Makele in the field and his terrific work rate we looked a much tighter team. We are having problems this season, I mean set pieces WTF?. We are being continually exploited by lesser teams, giving away free kicks which ends up costing us points. I find it hard to say what i mean but I really do feel it is since Claude Makele left we have been suffering slightly What does anyone else think? What or Who is Chelsea missing? Do we need to sign now and what do we need: Midfield/ Defender/ Striker?
midlandblue Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 of course we miss Maka, he was great at what he did, but it was time for him to move on, shame we haven't.
dkw Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 we miss the maka that was, not the maka that left. when he was in his pomp at chelsea there was none better at the job he did, he was incredible. but his legs had gone and he was unable to keep up with the pace of the prem by the time he left. he went at the right time in my opinion.

I cannot agree at all- maka showed better form than lamps last season I'd say, and over 120 minutes he was out best player in the CL final. plus his partnership with ballack in january got us out of a tough situation. he wanted to go and retire in france and we let him, which was fair, but in the big games, and against the sides who play a player between midfield and attack, we've sorely missed him. steven gerrard would not have been the best player on the pitch at the bridge if maka were playing, that's for sure. with posession, mikel is sometimes a better player, but without it they are in different league's still, and though mikel has done well, he and us both would have benefitted from maka still being around.

BlueBeard Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I cannot agree at all- maka showed better form than lamps last season I'd say The programme seller outside the main entrance showed better form than Lamps last season ;)
dkw Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 The programme seller outside the main entrance showed better form than Lamps last season ;) did he? is he contracted to anyone? i wonder if we can do a swap deal with his boss for malouda.... :D
icecoolguy22 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Of course We miss Maka's composure and interceptions. However Mikel and Essien are and will develop into the equivalent if not better replacement in future. When was the last time we saw Maka ran pass 2 players and sent a through ball to the forward? When was the last time Make had a shot on goal? What we are missing now is a Robben, and a Eidur.

[with shock] It's MAKELELE!!"

[with shock] It's MAKELELE!!" i think maka`s skill and ability was overlooked at times. he was by no means a clogger or JUST a defensive midfielder. he was pretty useful on the ball and could certainly pick a pass.
