ethicalstrategy Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Redknapp decided to play Gomes rather than Carlo in their win last night. Given Gomes' form so far this season I find that bizarre. From Carlo's point of view he must have expected to be No.1 when he moved, surely?
sergeyMS Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 (edited) Redknapp decided to play Gomes rather than Carlo in their win last night. Given Gomes' form so far this season I find that bizarre. TheWestwayWonder Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 What a joke. Gomes is utterly terrible at keeping goal and a complete joke on top of it. I heard about his riddiculous fainting episode in Donetsk a few weeks ago after he made a flapping tit out of himself. "Oh, i need to be carted off becasue im embarrassed." Second coming of Dida Even after years of getting just the odd game, Carlo showed himself to be, at least, the equal of Gomes.
Valerie Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 At the very, very least  In fact, when I saw that the Carling Cup final was decided on penalties, I thought that it served Redknapp right for not selecting Carlo <_< At least the Sp*ds would have stood a better chance of winning it then.
Scott Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Carlo was brought in to give Gomes a kick up the arse and a little competition.
TheWestwayWonder Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Val, I think Carlo wouldve been cuptied for the final. I'm sure even a fool like Redknapp wouldve selected him knowing it couldve gone to pens. Spurs were terrible with their pens, but Carlo probably wouldnt have gotten beat four times like Gomes managed
sexelk Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 carlo has been dodgy since cech came in. it takes him a few games to settle. once he does though.... heard he was really dodgy for spurs against hull. maybe that raised questions over him, i don't know. he is no spring chicken anymore gomes was always going to play the final. would be harsh to leave him out. and in the build up to the game, it sounded as if he was going to cry if he wasn't picked just hope carlo gets a few games under his belt to show he still has it (for his sake, not spuds)
