Semi's @ Wembley

Featured Replies

Considering the last two semis we have played have been at Old Trafford I'm delighted that this one will be at Wembley. It will save me a fortune on travel and accommodation and is a lot more convenient. It also means more fans will get the chance to go.

if we win, I don't think the final will be less of an event on the day.

final

Same for JPT and playoff finals. By all means give them a good stadium to play at (Old Trafford or somewhere) but Wembley should be for the Cup Finals and National team only

Luton are going to Wembley and getting relegated from the football league. Completely takes away from the spectacle of Cup Finals

People come off with the arguement that it's their only chance to play at Wembley but that's because they are not good enough. Harsh, maybe but the national stadium should be held in that high a regard

Got to be the final.

Need the final to be a special day and if you have just ben to wembley cuole of months ago for semi`s not going to be as good as it could have.

But aslong as we r in it i dont care.

go on the blues

I can fully understand why the remaining games will be played at Wembley, thats not to say I agree they should, for me reaching Wembley meant you had arrived after a good cup run.

I had a semi in Wembley once, but that was along time ago.

Only the fnial should be at Wembley - that for me is part of the thrill of getting to the final and that has been spoiled a bit by hosting semis there.

I don't see why they can't have more than two venues provisionally booked for the semi finals - say one in the North, one in the Midlands, and one in London and then once the draw is made you can decide which two venues are best - the venue that loses out can be compensated appropriately.

It's nothing to do with logistics Loz. It's simply a commercial agreement in order to maximise revenues at Wembley.

I can't really see the argument that only the final should be played there. It's not as if there is a long tradition for the stadium anyway. It was only opened a couple of years ago.

If we are there in May I really don't think my day is going to be affected one bit because the semi was there.

Will one Semi be on ITV and the other on Setanta? If so, we will most definitely be on Setanta, as I haven't got it. :o

Those who think extra tickets are available because it's Wembley will be mistaken. Remember the last time we played Manu at Wembley, there wasn't even enought tickets to cover out ST allocation!!

The middle tier is 20k corporates, and once club sponsers, E.on, sportswear firms... etc take a cut of tickets they'll be less alot than 30k for each set of supporters. I bet some season ticket holders will struggle for tickets again.

I'm not sure it's much of a problem for the semis but that's definitely true for the final.

Less than 23k each for the 2 biggest clubs in the country, for the last final, meaning 34k tickects for corporates on non supporters.

I think there'll be a few more for the semi's, but not that many. 25% of the stadium (around 20K) is already sold to the corporates :o

I had a semi in Wembley once, but that was along time ago.

Well I can understand why you wouldn't be able to get it up fully when looking at the 97 team... Di Matteo wasn't much of a looker.

Looks like the northerner's are too happy with a Sunday afternoon at Wembley.............

Reminds me of when they decided to make us play Fulham at Villa Park a few years ago. - The place was half empty.

The FA have always looked after the travelling masses haven't they?
