Best place to sit

Featured Replies

Just wondering to all those who attend football matches, where should I try to get a seat for the Chelsea v. Milan match in the summer.

I can get a great seat near the corner flag close to the field, but I am worried I won't be able to see anything away from that corner of the pitch (if you want to call it that since its on an american football field). Or I can get a seat on one of the sides.

Thanks for any advice, looking very much forward to my first Chelsea and football match!

You'll definitiely see more from the side. Being in the corner can be quite good if, and I mean if, one of our boys gets to take a corner from there. Bottom line though is anywhere in the ground is good enough as long as you get to see the blues play

I would have thought for the M & T, it would be best to sit at one of the ends, as close to the front as possible. I personally love sitting as close to the action as I can get, and the slight elevation at the back of the end zones would have made an excellent view for the majority of the pitch, and get you close enough to really enjoy things!

I've sat in a few different places when i've been to the bridge; however, if you want to see the most, try and get into the lower west stand. Depending on where you are (maily if your not in the middle) the atmoshpere can be decent. i've been in the shed end a couple of times but onece i was that far back if the ball went high I'd lose sight of the action.

i've yet to make the MH stand, and I'll never go to the east stand...views are fine, but atmos is terrible

I thought Blueday was talking about Chelsea playing on an American football (sic :) ) pitch :D ?

blueday, where are you seeing them? In M&T Bank stadium? If thats the case, I will have to look into tickets.

I saw Chelsea play DCU a few years ago in Fed Ex field. I was about 50 feet away from the pitch at a corner flag, but had a great view all game. I have awful eyesight, so for me, being able to actually see the players at that distance was worth the extra money. Duffer also scored a great goal that game, right near the corner where I was.

Isn't that the Arsene Wenger memorial seat?

:o

Have you been to the M and T Bank stadium before blueday? I'm looking at bringing a load of kids to the game, and obviously being on a fairly tight budget, the cheapest options would be the right up at the top of the end zones and sidelines. Do you know how far away these are? (Some grounds over here are pretty awful to watch from right up at the back of the highest stands).

I have only been there once (Redskins fan), and did sit at the top. It was around 5 years ago, so I can't really comment on how they were, but I am sure they aren't too bad. Here is a picture from the website of what seems like near the top.

Edit - P.S. Thanks for advice all, got my tickets near the corner flag, 5 rows up!
