March 29, 200916 yr Very sad news, RIP to the deceased. I was just looking at the box to the side about the African stadium incidents. I pray nothing like that happens in South Africa, or anywhere.
March 29, 200916 yr God knows how they made the decision to play the game despite what had happened/ I reckon they were afraid of the crowd's reaction if they had called it off.
March 30, 200916 yr Sad news indeed, I heard the players did not know anything about it until afer the game?. Or maybe at half time.
March 30, 200916 yr Shocking news. I very much doubt though that Ivory Coast will be ramming this tragedy down everyone's throat in 20 years time (or even next year come to think of it). Apparently according to one paper today, this is not a rare case in African football.
March 31, 200916 yr Things like this, and the general safety in areas of Africa, make me wonder if the Worl Cup will go ahead in South Africa? I heard that during teh Australia v South Africa cricket the other day, they panned over to show a stadium being built for the World Cup that was meant to be finalized in October, and it looked about half done...at best Scott
