It must be that time of year again

Not Stevie G this time but still the same delusion.

K**t - Reds have title delusion

Dirk Kuyt insists Liverpool have the belief they can end their 20-year wait for the league title.

The Anfield outfit have not been crowned champions since 1990 and again finished second best to Manchester United last term despite leading the way for long periods.

Rafa Benitez's men were victorious home and away against the eventual Premier League winners, while also taking six points from their two meetings with third-placed Chelsea.

But seven draws on home turf contributed heavily to the Reds finishing four points off the pace in second place as Sir Alex Ferguson's side equalled their record haul of 18 league titles.

Dutch international Kuyt feels their results against the other top teams will give them added confidence ahead of the new campaign, which begins with a trip to Tottenham, live on Sky Sports 1 and HD1, on Sunday.

::clap2::

liverpool will be in the title race but never as serious contenders. They got very lucky last year with numerous results, and they have lost a key player for them in alonso. all the tabloids keep going on about how great glen johnson is but he is definitely not the difference between title contenders and champions. Also good news that aquilani is injured for the next two months and i think agger and carragher both out for their opening game or two.

oh dear, every year without fail. the delusion is strong in this one, as yoda would say. myself, ill just call him a c**t and be done with.

I think Liverpool have a very good chance this coming season, they put up a good challenge last year and were very unlucky. With the new addition in Johnson, that will add more threat to them going forward. Alonsos departure could well stop them though, he was arguably their best playe last year and will be a massive loss. Hopefully they miss him badly.

I always love the 'this year is our year' though

johnson might give them something going forward but he will also cause THEM problems at the back. hes a massive liability at times, just seems to totally switch off.

Really? Well, Pompey fans will tell you he was their best defender last season, and he has improved alot since his time at Chelski.

he stood above the mediocrity at pompey, but he is still a liability. i guarantee you that he will cost them at least 9 points this season. just look back to the england game v kazahkstan, some random postman had him on toast.

And yet in Arbeloa, they had a better defensive fullback who they sold for peanuts. If Rafa wanted some attacking depth up the wing so badly, why did he not just go and buy a proper winger? The very thing Liverpool have been crying out for for years.

Attacking full backs add more variety and options to a teams play. Like Bosingwa for you, like Evra for us, like Clichy for Arsenal. Obviously Rafa wants that type of full back to have those options.

SHED END= sh*t name for a sh*t forum for a sh*t club

Yet another manc bar steward c**t. Don't think you'll last as long as the others somehow.

If you think liverfool is delusional, check out man city< i hear Robhino, saying man city is a big club and they are going to win the league this year or next.

How crazy is that?

And bigger than Brazil

Bosingwa is a very good offensive fullback but he is also good defensively, Remembering back to the champions league semi 1st leg last year when he managed to contain messi for 90 minutes, no easy feat.

Whats with all the manc fans at the moment?

The manc fans are worried, thats why they are on here. As for Liverpool fans they are just like spurs fans who say they are going to make the top four each year.

To be fair to them i do think they will be there or there about unlike Arsenal who for me are slipping back into the pack of clubs wanting 4th spot, but I still think its between us and Utd for the title this season and by the amount of mancs on this forum lately so do they.

and i thought the liveprool fans were delusional, turns out their ex players are even worse. some muppet ex player was on talksh*te this morning claiming johnson was easily the best right back in europe last season,. unbelievable...

Johnson was a big fish in a small pond at pompey. I'm sure his performances will come under alot more scrutiny at Liverpool especially defensively, besides how much difference can a new right back actually make?

If its the final piece of the jigsaw it will help complete a team but i think they are still missing in other departments and an injury to Torres and either Gerrard or Mascharano leaves great holes in their team where i feel ourselves and Utd could cope better without 1st team players through our strength in depth throughout the course of the season.

Surely Johnson's decision to go was based on first team football, which would imply that even he thinks we are stronger at the back than Liverpool.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't even want to see him go, but what he offers as an attacking force is negated with suspect defending. I thought that part of his game would come on, but it hasn't done to the level people are saying.

Alonso is a massive loss, pity the flukey barsteward didn't go at the beginning of last season.
