"Come on Burkina send Michael home!" - loz 1/17/10

I say Roy send Clint home!

Smearing Yorkshire pudding on his injury will not prepare him for Lamps and Terry on June 12th.

That's why I threw in the picture. I expect him to be the leading scorer for the US in S. Africa, if healthy.

And I now realize that Yorkshire pudding is bread, and thus cannot be "smeared".

I think Dempsey is your best player by far, he could turn out to be a surprise star of the tournament.

BREAD????? You heathen! Yorkshire pudding is the lightest most delectable pastry which is eaten with roast beef. Time you paid a trip to the UK to sample the culinary delights thereof.

But you're right in that once cooked it couldn't be spread - you could spread the batter though - who knows what benefits might be derived therefrom?

No Davies hurts them up front and Altidore is still a little too young to rely on in the WC. Not really going out on a limb with this but if Dempsey and Donovan don't get on the score sheet the US isn't going too far.

Davies is going to be unavailable. Drunk driver, single car accident at 3:15 the morning after qualifying for WC 2010. Damn -_-

10/13/09 "the grim reality following Davies' horrific Tuesday morning auto accident on the George Washington Parkway in Northern Virginia: One of the passengers, 22-year-old Ashley J. Roberta has died. Davies, 23, is facing an arduous 6- to 12-month recovery and extensive rehabilitation after undergoing surgery for a broken right femur and tibia, a broken left elbow, facial fractures and a lacerated bladder."

That was an horrific accident, and I really hope that Davies recovers fully. Dan, who was driving? Was one of Davies or his friend drunk, or was it a drunk driver that hit them? If it was someone that hit them, have there been any consequences?

Davies was not driving, it was either the male friend or the deceased female. He may play again, but he was so damn fast, not sure if he'll ever get his pace back after that serious of an injury. The accident happened four or five hours after the team's curfew, gotta make better decisions than that Charlie.

I may be wrong about Davies unavailability:

"The World Cup is easy for me to be back for,†Davies said in an interview. This with a titanium rod holding his femur together! "He broke a leg and an elbow and had facial fractures that required doctors to peel back his face."

Not sure about the wisdom, but you can't fault his courage...

Heathenry abandoned.

Tonight it was homemade Yorkshire pudding to accompany a Standing Prime Rib Roast. Definitely a delectable pastry, and the only physical malady it will rehab is hunger pains...

I'm glad Dempsey's OK, still don't know about Davies.

Mostly hope you all had a Happy Easter!
