Ashley Cole back for the Tottenham game

The best left back in the world Ashley Cole will be on the bench for his side's Premier League game with the scum on Saturday.

Cole, 29, broke his ankle in Chelsea's 2-1 defeat by Everton on 10 February.

His return will be a welcome boost for England manager Fabio Capello, who announces his initial 35-man World Cup squad on 12 May.

Cole could now play league games against Stoke, Liverpool and Wigan and the FA Cup final against Portsmouth as he bids to prove his England fitness.

"He has trained well all week, is totally recovered and is 100% fit," said Chelsea manager Carlo "the eyebrow" Ancelotti.

Cole is Capello's first choice at left-back and the Italian will face a selection dilemma if Cole fails to prove his fitness because Manchester City's Wayne Bridge made himself unavailable for his country in the wake of being complete and utter sh*te for the last four or five seasons. It's not really a selection dilemma anyway because Leighton Baines is twice the player that whiny twat Bridge is.

Chelsea are four points ahead of Manchester United at the top of the Premier League table with four games to go and play Portsmouth in the FA Cup final at Wembley next month.

you beat me to it! i was just about to post this newsflash from the official site

NEWSFLASH: ASHLEY COLE RETURNS

Posted on: Fri 16 Apr 2010

Carlo Ancelotti has announced that Ashley Cole is in the squad for the match at Tottenham tomorrow (Saturday).

The left-back has been out since February with a broken ankle. He will begin the game on the bench.

'He has trained well all week, is totally recovered and is 100 per cent fit,' says Ancelotti.

Michael Essien is not yet ready to return. Joe Cole, Deco and Florent Malouda will all start the game.

Good news, but there's no reason to rush him back. Yuri has been good recently and Ashley can take his time and make his return when he's ready.

I'd like to see Ivanovic on the right side of defence, but I don't know what about left side. Zhrikov or Ashley? Zhirkov played very well againsit Bolton.
