New Chelsea TV Online – Live friendlies

Featured Replies

Has anyone signed up to the new Chelsea TV Online yet? Is it any good? initially it looks much better than Chelsea plus, Anyway i’ve just seen on the official site they’re screening 4 pre-season matches against:

Palace

Ajax

Frankfurt

Hamburglers.

I’m pretty tempted to sign up as I don’t have sky so can’t get Chelsea TV on the tele box :(

I remember signing up ages ago for the US tour, just renewed mine to see this pre season games. I remember it was fine watching the games plus it's a lot easier seeing how hard it is finding the pre season games on other streams anyway, worth the 2 quid.

Is this official Chelsea promoting on an unofficial Chelsea forum? :D

Oh good point i'm suspicious now! :o

You make a good point Mod, Dannie has started two topics both of which are related to the official site. :conspiracy:

But I am actually considering getting this for the friendlies. The ones in America were shown here on ESPN last season but I don't think they're on anywhere this pre-season, at least here anyway.

Anyone know if chels tv now works on a Mac? Will be interested if so, as I always find pre-season games good to watch, especially if we're giving the youngsters a run out.

I dont see any harm in promoting stuff related to the official site. At the end of the day we are a part of the club and if this is a product/ service from the club we support then I dont have any hassles with it.

Agreed, my comment was tongue in cheek.

If you are able to let me know what plug-in it uses, I will find out.

The plug-in is Adobe Flash...so should be supported on a Mac ok.

Ooops didnt see the last post.

Just got chelseatv online now. It says this next to live events: ''Not available to users within the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Eire''. That really sucks as it never said that was the case in the link provided above. I only wanted it for the pre-season games.

I was about to ask if it supported Linux, but if it's flash, it's all cool like a fool in a swimming pool... although I'm a little disappointed, I was hoping to have a bit of a challenge on my hands.

is this based on the address you give when you register or on your IP when you log on to the site? if it's your IP then you could try logging on via a proxy.

It runs quite nice on mac...watch at work all the time haha. Although I am in the states so its nice that they seem to do a "simulcast" of the actual chelsea tv channel on sky, with the programming like blues new, the historical stuff, etc. Plus it seems that the US subscribers will be able to view the preseason matches if I understand it correctly.

That only applies to the ChelseaTV simulcasts - they want you to but Chelsea TV instead. The actual games are available on that link

Oh right, cheers. I think it's really stupid they don't show the simulcasts if you live in England. What happens if you don't have sky at home? I do but i would rather have it on my laptop tbh. What advantage is there for Chelsea if we buy it for our TV? FFS Chelsea sort it out! Going to the palace game tomorrow- with a nice :) ticket price for a change!

So if you sign up for the membership do you get it for the full season? Also does anyone know how good the quality is? I have a htpc hook up to a 47 in lcd. Will it look like sh*te?

You can sign up for a year or on a monthly basis. It's a fiver a month if you pay monthly, but only 2 pound for the first one. You have to cancel, and i think the minimum is 2 months. Don't know what the live streaming will be like. But others have said for previous pre-season games it has been fine.
