Anyone else care about them a little too much? I know they're worthless, but yet I get so much satisfaction every time I hear that little "ding" for getting one. I've never Platinumed a game though, because they are often too time-consuming (collect every feather from AC2 comes to mind), but if all I have to do is use only a shotgun in level 5 of Game X to get a trophy for it, I will end up doing it.

I think I have about 10 platinum on the Xbox 360 (well, the platinum equivalent). But all on very easy games.

shaunhurle if you fancy adding me Ace, also same for PS3, although I barely have any trophies on that.

I try and get the achievements, but dont go mental for them like some do. I even read somewhere some people download other players completed game saves to get all the achievements without playing the game, how pathetic is that?

If I get them in the course of playing the game how I want to play the game, good, but frankly it doesn't bother me.

Like, there's plenty of achievements you get for doing menial things, like sharing something, or uploading something...if I don't feel the need to do them, I don't.

Though, I went along time without playing games online....in fact, this was the first Fifa I have used online play (I was forced into it because I found single player too boring)...so I've naturally accrued more achievements through that online, and I will certainly play more games online from now on.

For me it all depends on the game. If its a game I've been looking forward to playing for months then yeah I'll try and get all the achivs, but if its just a game I brought randomly then I'd probably just be happy getting random achivs and not looking for them.

That's pretty sad.

With how expensive games are anymore, I usually end up playing through story-based games multiple times. I won't worry about them too much during the first one, but during the 2nd I will alter my gameplay if it's possible to pick up some relatively simple trophies.

If I don't enjoy it though, I don't bother. I noticed that games that offer single-player challenge maps (CoD, Batman, etc.) are still largely ignored by me, even if there are trophies up for grabs.

I've got all but 3 on L4D2. Most of them I just got in the general course of play, though a few I did try quite hard to get because they were quite hard and I wanted them!
