Nope, he'll get treated like a piece of meat for the next two or three years, pick up a couple of injuries grow disillusioned and quit the game. At 17 he'll start playing again because he'll remember that many years ago he used to enjoy playing, get noticed and if he's lucky have a few years earning money playing in the lower leagues. And so another bright young talent is ruined by the system.

Sadly, I think that is a realistic prognosis!

Probably be very fortunate to still be playing the game professionally at 19.

And yes, it's a bit sad that kids are being given unreal expectations.
