I quite like the idea. It does solve the big problem international football has, namely that there are too many mismatches and too many games that no one cares about. A series of matches involving the top 10 or 12 sides in Europe would be a lot more interesting than all those meaningless friendlies and tedious qualification games.

Horrific idea, especially the "final four" idea every summer, players need a rest not playing glorified international friendlies.

I just don't see how it would really work. I don't see why anyone will be interested in playing a maximum of 2 games every 2 to 3 months. This competition would take forever to end and would get boring.

I rarely even watch England games anymore so I can't say i'll be getting overly excited about this, I watch the big games at the Euros and WC but that is it, for the most part international football is a bore.

talk about wear and tear. they're people not a bunch of bots.. i wouldn't be surprised if there are only 8-men manning the team at the second half of the season
