However it will attract a larger crowd being a Saturday and their first pre season game. You will find Sutton's ground had a facelift since your last visit! Edited June 27, 2014 by Gatekeeper
Carshalton Blue Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I would think it was the date that Chelsea had free. However it will attract a larger crowd being a Saturday and their first pre season game. You will find Sutton's ground had a facelift since your last visit! I'm looking forward to seeing the new away end & dugouts mate, though shame the old Stamford bridge like track & bowl has gone.

Carshalton Blue Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Yeah, I miss the old grounds. The modern stadiums lack charm. Yeah mate most new grounds are crap, its a shame when classic old English non league grounds go the same way.
Gatekeeper Posted July 12, 2014 Author Posted July 12, 2014 Sutton v Chelsea preview 11th July 2014 The new look Gander Green Lane will get its first public showing tomorrow when Sutton entertain the Chelsea Under-21 team that won the Under-21 Premier League last season. It will be the second consecutive season that U's have played the young Chelsea team, and a year ago Sutton gave a good account of themselves until conceding a soft goal just before half time, after which Chelsea eased away to a 4-0 win. As well as the new-look ground, which includes a squared-off Collingwood end, tomorrow will be the first chance for home supporters to see the summer signings that Paul Doswell has made. Admission is £10 for adults, £6 for concessions and £2 for Under 16s, and season tickets are valid. There will be a turnstile reserved for those who have already bought tickets for the game.
Gatekeeper Posted July 12, 2014 Author Posted July 12, 2014 Yep, 0-0 Chelsea did have some very good chances hitting the post twice. Not a great game, Sutton did not have a strong side out and it showed.
Tallchris Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Probably could have counted the amount of chances on one hand, sun was out though, good turnout :)
Carshalton Blue Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Good day out, starting with a pub crawl, ended up boozing in the club bar didn't see much of the game, ground looks good now with the new away terrace. What was the gate?
BromleyBlue Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Spoke to Izzy Brown and he says he should be playing for the first team on Wednesday and maybe on Saturday. The attendance was a pretty good 1738. However, I think it was higher last year.
