Pre-season tour 2015- Chelsea to Sydney

Featured Replies

Buzzing for this game, great pre-season practise for Sydney.

Maybe, our two Russki owners can create a little partnership going on.

I'll definitely be trying to get along. Shame it won't be at SFS. I remember being there when Rangers played a few years back. Such a good atmosphere.

Don't imagine many first teamers will feature. Will be good to see the likes of Solanke and RFC have a run out though.

Sebby Ryall said he'll check his schedule, but he should be able to pop down and teach Eden Hazard a few tricks.

Tbh Spiller, I'm probably not alone in being more excited to see some youth prospects instead of the guys I sre play every week

Hoping to be there for it, will either drive or fly down from Brisbane, will be the first time i've seen the Chels in the flesh since I moved out here 11 odd years ago, buzzing!

Edit: f**k me i've just realized its supposed to be on June 2nd, my end of semester exams are on June 6th, f**king sh*t.

I can buy you beers to help you study.

Next day flight back to Brisbane would be cheapish?

Confirmed 2nd June @ ANZ. Tickets on sale 11am 6 May.

Already sorted for 6 in the members section. First time for the kids so should enjoy it even if I'm not into friendlies.

Talk of 83,000 and that wouldn't surprise me. I hear Dave Mitchell is playing the second half.........

Tickets are overpriced as f**k, disgraceful stuff by FFA.

ffa tax aint enough? don't they get 50% of the cut

i see why they got rid of the all stars concept and let a-league clubs chase their own friendlies....they'll make $$$ regardless...cheeky kents

The FFA don't organise it. It's organised by a private promoter.

Yes, prices will be steep, but welcome to Australia. Also a nice reminder that many people on this forum pay the same price every single week.

Obviously it's great to expand the Chelsea brand and it enables fans across the world to see Chelsea in the flesh, but I thought this years pre-season in England and Europe was a big benefit to us.

Actually didn't see the date, looks like it's at the end of the season rather than a pre-season.

Pretty sure we argued opposite sides on this issue last year but now that the moment is here in front of me, I don't really see the point.

I mean this game is doing NOTHING for the local game or Sydney FC. Game is organised by a private promoter (i.e like a concert- tells you all you need to know really), underwritten by the State Govt's tourism body. It's post-season for both clubs so players will be running on empty. It doesn't bring new fans into the A-League but generates plenty of money for the promoters and hangers-on, and of course Chelsea FC.

Yep i've gone through the Brisbane supporters club and confirmed i'll be coming down, from what I gather i'll be collecting my ticket through them.

Will fly down on Saturday morning and leave on Sunday morning most likely, I have a mate who has volunteered his couch down there so should be all sorted, buzzing!

To give you an example of pricing, Spurs, through charter company, were quoted $555,000 for a 747 to bring them here. That is only from Kuala Lumpa and back with the aircraft positioning into KL and back. Full crew and business class service for an estimated max 50 passengers. Can you imagine the price of a chartered CFC aircraft from London? Anyway prices are steep but I reckon it could be packed. The only negative is that Sydney FC play Spurs just before and many nuterals might of splashed cash for that game. We will see.

Just had to spend $200 dollars on a f**king ticket, got a hookup in the members area from a mate just to be sure I wouldn't miss out on a ticket, still ridiculous how expensive the bloody things are. Better be a good game, once in a life time opportunity!
