  1. Not bad for a friendly. Enjoyed it and good to see some of the boys putting in a decent effort, Hazard especially. Official attendance was 83,598, all this on a cold Tuesday night. Glad my kids have finally watched them. Massive amount of CFC tops visible but strangely too quiet for me. The idiots throwing paper planes got more noise and attention than what was happening on the field. Seriously. It used to be darts in time past, now it's paper planes!!
  2. To give you an example of pricing, Spurs, through charter company, were quoted $555,000 for a 747 to bring them here. That is only from Kuala Lumpa and back with the aircraft positioning into KL and back. Full crew and business class service for an estimated max 50 passengers. Can you imagine the price of a chartered CFC aircraft from London? Anyway prices are steep but I reckon it could be packed. The only negative is that Sydney FC play Spurs just before and many nuterals might of splashed cash for that game. We will see.
  3. Confirmed 2nd June @ ANZ. Tickets on sale 11am 6 May. Already sorted for 6 in the members section. First time for the kids so should enjoy it even if I'm not into friendlies. Talk of 83,000 and that wouldn't surprise me. I hear Dave Mitchell is playing the second half.........
  4. Emotion. Reaction to winning, loosing, drawing, going down, going up, signing good, signing bad, firing, hiring. Only YOU know if you are true Chelsea supporter. I know I am and always will.
  5. My second manager as a supporter. Many memories. RIP Dave Sexton. The Quiet One and a Special One.
  6. 1967 FA Cup Final. Watching the TV with my brother. He chose the white team and I chose the black ones, simple!
  7. As the 20th of May 2012 approached (Australian) and our boys lined up in Munich it marked 45 years to the day that I have supported our club. I wondered if they would deliver the best present you could hope for. Some how I think it was written. I know a number of you out there started supporting Chelsea on 19th May 1967 as it was the FA Cup Final against Spurs. I sat down as a 9 year old watching the telly and looked at my brother and said I would go for the black team and he replied he will go for the white. We lost 2-1. How ironic is it 45 years later we win the ultimate prize and Karma takes place, Spurs relegated to the Europa League from their lofty 4th EPL finish. The glory and the irony.
  8. Geezer excellent post. Everything you have said there mirrors what I feel. For me 45 years next month and I too experienced those dark days. But you know when we were in Div 2 it didn't matter at all. The only thing that mattered was supporting your club. European Cup?? Hell I was happy with the Zenith Data Cup ( or what ever it was called) We all know now that the easy part was getting to the top........ the hardest part was staying there. Blue for life.

  10. As a ShedEnder for many years but who sits on that fence in this forum I would have to say that is the most uplifting thread I have read. I have a lump in my throat and I wish to thank Gem and Geezer for the thought and organising this for Bobby.
  11. Best wishes Bobby, get well soon. You are a true legend.
  12. Recover well Bobby. There are a lot of people praying for you. A real, true legend.
