Thought this would be fun, inspired by the Goal of the Season thread I thought it would be fun to have an overall topic for ... of the Season for Chelsea plus a few questions about next season. So here goes:

Player of the Season

Eden Hazard, I could have gone for JT (and I did vote for him in the official CFC awards, mainly due to Hazard already winning the PFA award) because I feel he has been equally as important but the magic of Hazard has gotten the goals we needed in the run in to take the title.

Match of the Season

Everton 3 Chelsea 6, this game had everything, goals, controversy, the added spice of past players taking on their old club (Lukaku, Eto'o).

Save of the Season

Thought it would be good to credit the goalkeepers for a change. Quite a few saves spring to mind, Courtois many against Liverpool, his save against QPR and the Cech save from Lukaku at the Bridge. But the triple save against Hull from Tibo was unbelievably good and that for me is the best of the bunch.

Goal of the Season

Schurrle versus Burnley, 20 passes, a beautiful pass from Fabregas and a good finish from Andre.

Moment of the Season

Has to be the Fabregas goal against QPR, psychologically I believe this is the moment where we won the league title. The game looked to be heading for a 0-0 and with Man United and Arsenal to play the gap could have been cut short. Thankfully though we are superb at picking up other teams errors and we did so here to get a massive three points.

Who/what do we need to sign for next season

I think we really need a wide player who can give us the width we have lacked at times. Griezman would be a nice addition and I would love Bale but that won't happen.

I think Drogba may get an extension but I don't think that would be the best idea, a centre forward either way is vital. I don't think we could cope the way we have.

A new midfielder to play alongside Matic and a defender are also needed I feel.

Where do you see us finishing next season

I think we will win the Community Shield, win the FA Cup and retain the Premier League title. I can see us getting to the quarters/semis of the Champions League and probably get knocked out of the League Cup fault early on.

Player of the season

John Terry, 34 years old now and he's as good as ever, how many 34 year old players can you say that about? He's received so many plaudits this season, Carragher was particularly vocal in his admiration for Terry, even admitting that he wasn't the player that Terry was and still is.

Match of the season

Everton 3 Chelsea 6, for the same reasons that you mentioned and you can't forget that Mikel back-heel, what a back-heel from Obi Wan. I also enjoyed the Maribor game, it was so fun to watch at the Bridge, the one nil victory over Liverpool also springs to mind, a lot of passion on display.

Save of the season

Not as clear cut as before, in the past there have been stand outs, in 2013 it was ?ech v.s Hernandez, in 2012 it was ?ech v.s Caroll, or maybe Schweinsteiger. In 2015 it's a tough call, so many top saves from Courtois, but I'm going to have to go with ?ech v.s Lukakau, a point blank save, a close second would be Courtois saving a volley from Lallana.

Goal of the season

Costa v.s Newcastle, so many good goals this season, but this is my favourite and it doesn't get much of a mention, we had little space to work with, but Hazard managed to find Oscar who back-heeled it to Costa who finished it, lovely goal.

Moment of the season

That's a tough one, I'm going to have to agree with you, because I remember the feeling that I had when Fabregas scored that goal, which was actually a very good goal, despite the mistake from Robert Green. My second choice would be the Ivanovi? winner against the dippers, because the two legs against them were full of passion and intensity, so when Ivanovi? scored it was a great moment.

Who/what do we need to sign for next season

We could promote Bamford as third choice striker, but will he except that? I'm not so sure, so loaning him out might be the best bet, which means we may need to sign a striker, who would be third choice, perhaps we could promote Solanke or Brown. Drogba should stay, but he must be fourth choice striker, we'd be crazy not to have him remain at the club, he has a huge impact in terms of team morale. I want to see Oscar stay, or he'll become another victim of Jose's short fuse, he should switch in and out with Fabregas, whilst we add a new player to play alongside Matic, which would course the sale of either Ramires or Mikel (sadly in my opinion). As far as wide players are concerned, let's work with what we have, Hazard and Willian, with more game time given to Cuadrado, we also have five wide players out on loan, Kakuta is never going to make it, Atsu isn't ready, Traore and Piazon are potential Chelsea players in the future, Piazon could be an option, as a squad player next season, as could Ginkel actually.

Where do you see us finishing next season

I see United offering a stronger challenge, Citeh will have to strengthen to stay with us at the business end of the season, Arsenal will claim their fourth place trophy and the majority of the gooners will continue to back the voyeur. The dippers will believe that it's their year, then RAWK will go into meltdown as we successfully defend our title.

Save: Courtois vs Leicester or Cech vs Everton

Goal: Fabregas vs Palace

Moment: So many to choose from - I loved the Ivanovic winner vs Villa and the Fabregas winner vs QPR but nothing beats the final whistle when we won the league.

Who to sign for next season - I don't feel we need anyone but a winger/striker such as Griezmann would be very useful.

I could do a very long list of honourable mentions, but Hazard obviously takes this award. It's a joy to watch that man play football.

 

Match of the Season

 

Swansea away was our most impressive performance in my opinion. The Liverpool semi-final (both legs) were among the most entertaining too, and the build up was great.

 

The PSG game may well prove to be a significant one. That's the first time I've seen us beaten on a big European night because the other team simply wanted it more and fought harder. Our attitude and character has got us past a number of more technically gifted sides in the past, but it wasn't there on that night. Hope (and to be honest with Jose at the helm, fully expect) that lessons will be learned.

Cech vs Lukaku. Still the best 'keeper in the world in my opinion.

Schurrle vs. Burnley without a doubt for me, utter class in the build up.

Moment of the Season
 

For me it was Willian versus Everton. That was a hard fought win, we threw a lot at them, and that last minute winner had me certain it was going to go our way this season. 

 

Who/what do we need to sign for next season

 

Another attacking option, don't feel there's a desperate need for much else. I think the confidence we'll gain from winning this league will do us a lot of good next season, particularly the younger players. It's been nervous, cautious play recently, but they've shown what they're capable of earlier in the season when the pressure wasn't telling, looking forward to more of that football next season.

 

Where do you see us finishing next season

I'm sure it will be a tighter contest, but I reckon we can do it again next season. And I always fancy us in cup ties, so I expect a couple of good runs - I hope we manage to build a bit of momentum in Europe next season.

Player of the Season

Eden is the obvious choice and rightly so as he’s been so consistent over the season and our second highest scorer behind Costa. Close behind is JT who has had a fantastic season yet again, he’s unlucky not to be our player of the season.

Match of the Season

Same as Bobbies…Everton 3 Chelsea 6. That to me highlighted how utterly clinical we were at the start of the season…we were scoring for fun and were by far the most exciting team to watch in Europe at that point IMO.

Save of the Season

For me it has to be Cech at home to Everton, he had no right saving that shot from Lukaku but somehow he did and had he not I couldn’t see us winning that game so he get’s the nod over Tibo’s wonder performance against Hull.

Goal of the Season

Team wise Schurrle has to be the one but for personal sake I loved Costa’s dink in the Arsenal game the most this season, a delightful long ball from Cesc and a deadly cheeky finish from our warrior Costa. I just love watching him celebrate.

Moment of the Season

Again agreeing with the OP, the Cesc goal at QPR was a defining moment in the push for the title, had we drew the pressure would have ramped right up for the Arsenal game and given them hope.

Who/what do we need to sign for next season

A central midfielder to partner Matic in the tougher games as we can push Cesc forward a bit where he is most dangerous.

I’d go for a wide left player too as Hazard was lucky to be injury free this season and we have a lack of like for like replacements on that side of the park.

Drogba should retire no doubt about it as he is a luxury we can’t afford next season, I also have a feeling Remy will leave to as Jose doesn’t seem to rate him too highly so a striker may be up on our priority list.

GK is self-explanatory while a CB and Attacking mid would be nice.

Where do you see us finishing next season

Depends on who our title rivals bring in, at this moment in time we’d be clear winners again but City and United will spend heavily in the summer while Arsenal are now prone to spending big on a star player.

I think we will retain the league and win the FA cup, maybe a semi-final appearance in the CL too.

Who/what do we need to sign for next season

 

I think all we really need is a centre midfielder and a winger. I wouldn't mind if we signed a CB as well but i don't think it should be our top priority. I would love us to sign Schneiderlin and Reus. Reus looks very very unlikely though.

 

Where do you see us finishing next season

 

1st, why not ? Our rivals need to improve greatly and need to be better managed throughout the season. With a couple of decent signings there is a possibility that we can widen the gap between us and our rivals.
