November 30, 2025Nov 30 If anyone wants some nonsense to watch Clash of the Comics (a charity wrestling match with comedians & professional wrestlers) is on U&Dave. If you can spot me in the crowd you need to answer some questions because none of you know what I look like.

June 6Jun 6 Not sure where to put this but actor Anthony Head has died at the terribly young age of 72. The obits rattle on about Buffy, Ted Lasso, etc, none of which I ever saw, but I'll forever remember him for lighting up Mark Evans' sublime Dickensian spoof Bleak Expectations on R4 and still repeated on R4 Extra. As Pip's nemesis, the wonderfully named Mr. Gently Benevolent, he stole the show. Such was his importance to the show that, in one of the later series, he was working in the States and apparently unavailable for the live recording. This problem they solved by patching him in live from the States and, in his place on stage, they propped a broom up against a microphone with a hat on top of it.
June 7Jun 7 He also appeared in one-off shows like New Tricks and doubtless others. I though he was good in these.I never watched much of Men Behaving Badly yet just discovered that Neil Morrissey was a biker called Rocky in the tv program Boon,

He was terrific as the shady copper NIgel Morton in Line Of Duty.
June 8Jun 8 Caught some of Steve Backshall last night on BBC2 with an expedition to Gabon, now I have seen him rock climbing before in Alalska which was not my thing. Yet this one was very good.It reminded me of Tarzan that was shown on TV in the 70s in black and white as they ventured into tributaries of a major river venturing into canyons even the locals did not visit.Very interesting as it looked untouched with vines that helped them get down the rocks and day-glow Kingfishers that were not bothered about people, lemurs or monkeys high in the trees screaming warnings and dwarf crocodiles with one almost jumping into their canoe.Later the river current up-turns thier canoes and the program gets edited a bit. This is program intro from FreeviewRegarded as the Eden of Africa, Gabon is one of the most biodiverse countries on the planet – home to gorillas, chimpanzees, crocodiles and forest elephants. With 80 per cent of the country covered by almost impenetrable rainforest, much of Gabon remains unexplored. On this expedition, Steve and the team head into a remote part of the Moukalaba-Doudou National Park. Cut off from the outside world by the Doudou mountains, this ‘unknown zone’ has never been explored – until now. Teaming up with local jungle guide Ghislain Bouassa and primatologist Alessandra Mascaro, Steve hopes to discover whether this unexplored jungle could be home to an undiscovered population of chimpanzees. The local Punu community relate tales of a mythical canyon – a place where they believe the river disappears off the face of the earth. They hold it sacred and have never ventured beyond the canyon, but they have given Steve their blessing to explore it for the first time – to discover what animals are in the jungle beyond.

Neil said his digestion felt odd after that.
