Looking back, I think Jose played for the draw like he has done in the past for tough away group games. Another year we would have got away with it, not this time with our no existent defence and poor finishing. The last thing you need when you play for a draw is to concede first like we did, then the whole game plan is out. Game of narrow margin, we just not good enough. Had we got the draw, I believe most of us would think Jose did quite right, apart from selecting the usual suspects.

It isn't individual players. It's endemic.

 

I quite agree. Poor, poor defending. No creativity up front results in a lack of attempts in front of goal.

 

Yes, Porto's defense was on a different level.

Got back from Porto last night. Shame about the result and performance but had a great trip all the same. Would really recommend Porto for a short break – Really scenic city with a lot going for it: excellent seafood, friendly locals and lots of cool bars. Everything is very reasonably priced as well and it’s very easy to get around the city once you get there. The Dragao was quite impressive as well. Still suffering a little from it but was well worth it! Thanks to everyone else who came out, atmosphere was very good in our end.

If he goes with same predictable line up including Brana and Cesc in the midfield I think There is something wrong with Jose or he has some hidden agenda for some reason.

I'm confused about that whole thing with Brana, he would be on the bench and JT should be given another chance. Start with Hazard, Oscar, Willian. I think Pedro should be sub + Ramirez.

I'm an optimistic individual but I think we will get out ass whooped by Southampton.
