I did always admire Man utd and enjoyed watching their football but watching you lot now is like watching paint dry and i'm actually surprised how lenient you lot have been with Van Gaal to be honest. Winning trophies is always a bonus but good football is something you always expect from Man utd and from a neutral point of view it was always worth watching.

If and when Jose joins you lot, don't expect him to start playing the "united way" with free flowing football. When he arrives he may talk about your youth famous academy but do not expect him to use it, Jose is all about results and using the same player's week in week out. And all this works wonders, for a season or two atleast.

Man utd have always been well received by the media but I don't know how they will play it when Jose turns up.

 

We'll see then if it's Jose the media hate more or Chelsea. I have a feeling he'll be treated with much more respect at Man utd than here.

I do not get this 'Jose plays anti-football' theories. He is a pragmatic manager, and prefers to have his teams sit back in the big games and hit on the counter, yes. But we have seen some brilliant attacking football under him at Madrid and Chelsea. The mauling of Arsenal recently comes to mind. However I do agree that this pragmatism may deviate from attacking football more often than not.

Jose doesn't have a history with youth or consistent attacking football, and we don't expect to see that under him, either. The very reason we've dithered so far, allegedly considering the likes of Giggs and Poch to succeed LVG is because we're afraid we'll be losing some core tenets of our identity if Jose takes over. Most folks on redcafe are worried about the futures of Rashford, Martial, CBJ, Fosu-Mensah, Pereira, Januzaj and the likes once Jose arrives.

However, beggars can't be choosers. To sustain the popularity and commercial success of a club of United's stature - success is a necessity. LVG has proven incapable of delivering it at Old Trafford, and we need to get back to consistently finishin in top four a.k.a Arsenal-style, and compete for silverware. Given the managerial changes all around in the PL and the new TV money - we desperately need a proven top manager who can bring new talent, regular CL and success  - and Jose Mourinho is the only option left.
