Guus on his passing

 

What awful news. Just last month he was optimistic about his prognosis. I don't know if he was trying to hide the truth, or if the disease took a sudden grave turn as can happen with cancer.

R I P another all time great.

RIP Johan, a brilliant player and legend. That Dutch team of the early seventies was one of the best ever. A shame they didn't win the World Cup. 

 

A lovely gesture from the Dutch FA. At the 14th minute of this evening's game between the Netherlands and France the game will stop for a minute's silence.

RIP, really one of the best to ever lace them up. Just saw that it's been two years since Di Stefano and Euesebio passed, a lot of these legends swirling in the heavens over the last few years.
