Boyne:There was a massive difference in attendance ps of the 1970 and 1975 Scottish League Cup Finals.

The 1970 attendance was officially 106,263, whilst the 1975 attendance was only 58,806.

Both played in late October and neither shown live on tv.

The Hampden capacity was either 85,000 or 88,000 by the time of the 1975 Final.

Some attendance drop in just five years!

It was the same with the drop in attendances from 1973 Scottish Cup Final of 122,714 officially, with the full 134,000 tickets sold

In 1977 the official attendance was 54,252 and this 1977 Final shown live on TV.

Both 1973 and 1977 were Old Firm Finals and both played on equally wet weather in early May.

Yet one year earlier therewas a full capacity at Hampden for Rangers v Hearts of 85,000.

However many estimated the crowd in attendance was unofficially over 105,000. As some gates were broken at the Kings Park end of Hampden and a great many fans surged in unofficially .
