Brazil and Italy, 1970 World Cup Final.

First World Cup Final I watched. A great Brazil side. Their fourth goal is still one of the best I've seen.

25th Nov 1953.  Nándor Hidegkuti’s shot flies past Gil Merrick’s desperate dive after less than a minute to give Hungary the lead, with England barely having touched the ball. (PA Images/Alamy Stock Photo).

Bud with Big Ron after the former was sent home from the 1978 World Cup for failing a drugs test.

Scotland's song for the 1978 World Cup was 'We're on the March with Ally's Army.' Not long after Willie failed the test fans were singing 'We're on the Drugs with Ally's Army.'

Boyne:All four played well that day v England. That 1974 game is the first Scotland v England game that I remember watching on tv.

The Hampden terracing in the background looks packed to capacity! Or to over capacity even !!😀

Jimmy Johnstone wearing Peter Shiltons England jersey salutes the Hampden crowd after the 1974 game. Moments later he gave the Scottish Press a massive two finger ‘salute’. This was after heavy criticism he’d received after being found adrift in a rowing boat just off Largs earlier in the week!! The local coastguard had to ‘rescue’ him!!😀😀

The great Sepp Maier celebrates a Bayern Munich goal at the Stadtisches Stadion an der Grunwalder Strasse. This was their home to between 1926 & 1972 and is still serving city rivals TSV 1860 today.       Fussball Geekz on Twitter.

Cathkin Park in it's heyday...the bottom picture is a good comparison to the one you posted from 1972 Boyne. Imagine being a football daft youngster back in 1972 and being able to play on that pitch!
Which until 1967 been that of a professional club side!!
And I thought the old pitch I used to play back in the late 1970s was good…😀
