Won't change a thing.

VPN's are all the rage and anyone with a paid sub like Sports Mania are not affected.

Scare tactics and nothing more.

I'm curious as to the reasons why paid subs are different to free add ons? Not disagreeing either as I'll admit to not knowing a great deal about how streams work at the hosts end.

I don't think a VPN is going to make much difference in this case though, reading it all, the ISP's are going after the host server not the end users, would it not then need every person on a stream to then have a VPN for the host to remain hidden?

NJM Soccer tweeted 2 days ago something like 'The party is over, been fun while it lasted (sad face)'

I hope you're right about SM though as I'm with them! :good2:

Because they have several servers mate and if one get's taken down they simply move to another which is a 5 minute Job. I'm on the FB closed group for SM and the guy who runs It Willo said the below when all this broke.

"

ght this is my 1 and only post about this guys so please refrain from making new ones.
Yes i've seen the news "S*y have permission to try to take down streaming devices,
Will this affect any of the services i run?
No not in the slightest,
As i have said in the past i already have about 10 backup plans.
So hypothetically lets say something on SM/SNHD/UM was blocked  what would be the downtime?
Honest answer: about 5 minutes.

Why not longer than 5 minutes? well if i told everyone then it wouldn't be a plan would it but you guys have trusted me for coming up now 5 years and we are still here so stop worrying if there is anything that concerns me you guys will be the 1st to hear it.

Now enjoy the service you pay for and stop worrying and leave that to me and if i'm not worrying neither should you! — ?feeling happy."

He seems pretty sure! Lol Makes me feel better too.

Could be a game of cat and mouse then with the ISP chasing the host all over his servers!

Maybe if Sky stopped worrying so much about people streaming it and just offered a reliable, reasonably priced streaming service themselves, a lot of people would probably subscribe to it.

Also this archaic rule about 3pm kick offs not being allowed to be shown live on a Saturday. Sky should do something similar to what NBC do and offer all games on demand...at a reasonable price.

Won't happen though it's more or less a monopoly now, governed by greed.

Yeah I just can't ever justifying paying Sky Sports or BT Sports prices anymore.

I mean for £27 quid I can get HD sports for 6 months which offers far, FAR more than both those packages combined.

So long as there are people out there providing things like this I'll always be avoiding the big companies. I don't work hard all my life to be fleeced by money grabbing corporate machines like them.
