I'm back!

Hello all,

Those of you that have been around for some time should remember me as a fairly regular contributor to the forum a few years back. I've kept an eye on things but haven't posted for some time.

Where have I been you might ask? It's fair to say my life has changed a helluva lot. Back in May 2013 having returned from Amsterdam in celebratory mood I met a girl called Sarah. Having been able to attend around 20 matches per season, I was made the happiest man ever when the following year we discovered we were expected a bundle of joy. Now, as many of you will know, your life changes massively and I knew my days of consuming copious amounts of cider and regularly watching live football would be reduced considerably. On the 22nd of February 2015 I become the proud father of a beautiful baby girl, Daisy. Her first game was the league cup final victory over the spuds. I waited years to see success, whilst she was only a week old.

I have been lucky enough to go to a couple of games since and I'm not afraid to say I am for the foreseeable future a very proud armchair supporter. I have recently been writing a blog and here is a Chelsea related article... https://everythingaboutfootballweb.wordpress.com/2017/04/28/the-truth-about-chelseas-rise/  Feel free to have a look and comment as well as following on Twitter or Facebook*

*blatant excuse for a  plug, but I'm lucky enough to know coco personally and hope he won't mind

Meanwhile back to my story. I'm getting married in November and one of tasks is to name the tables. Surprisingly it was her idea as she isn't a fan of football at all. So we have 7 tables and I intend to use the names of players. It appeared easy at first, but picking only 7 is proving difficult. I did consider having a 'Demba Ba' table and put Liverpool fans on it. Who would you choose?

Anyway, It's bye for now as I'm watching 'In The Night Garden' before putting Daisy to bed. I promise I'll be back soon :)

Hi Val,  thank you ever so much. Yes, your home city had a huge effect on my life :-) Hope all is good with you.

I'm hoping to get the little madam to bed before Wet Spam v Spuds starts lol

Nice to see you back, Scooby.

Congratulations on the baby girl, they change your life completely, don't they?  Beautiful name too, by the way.

I like the idea of 7 tables having names, are you looking to have the names be Chelsea players, or just Chelsea related?

If you were doing it Chelsea related you could avoid people being mad at the player their table is named after.  For example, as great as the John Terry table may be, i'm sure a lot of "don't sha* yer missus" jokes would be made.

If you were doing it Chelsea related, then you could have things like the Stamford Bridge, Fulham Broadway, Mears Family, Matthew Harding, Ken Bates, Roman Abramovich, etc.

All the best when that times comes, pal.

Cheers mac.

Great idea, I have been starting to think of other Chelsea related possibilities as she did say "To do with Chelsea" and so those suggestions you've made fit the bill perfectly :-D
