October 9, 20205 yr Author Wed 9th Oct 1985. We beat !Mansfield 2-0 in the Milk Cup.2nd Round, 2nd Leg. We progress.😀 Our scorer. King Kerry Dixon with both goals. In the 48th and 54th mins respectively. He had a penalty saved in the 78th min, so unfortunately missing out on a hat trick. 11,664 was the official attendance. Next up is a difficult game. October 12, 20205 yr Author Sat 12th October 1985. We beat Everton 2-1 at The Bridge. Our goal scorers were King Kerry Dixon in the 4th and David Speedie in the 40th mins respectively. Everton keeper Neville Southall was sent off in the 60th min. He’d already been booked in the 20th min. Two penalties were missed in this match. Nigel Spackman put ours over the bar in the 21st min. Graeme Sharpe put his shot wid of the post in the 57th min A very good win over the then reigning League Champions and European Cup Winners Cup holders. Watched by a crowd of 27,634.
