Fifa 23

Generic FIFA 23 thread

As I'm sure some of you know this is the final installment of the popular football video game (thankfully). Anything related to the game you can post in here. As per usual the developers hate on us in terms of overall Sterling went down from an 88 to an 86 speaking with some city fans they felt this was unjustified.

James continues to be criminally underrated at 84 whilst Trent is an 87 we all know who the better defender is. Mount should probably be an 85 but 84 is reasonable. Aubameyang at 85 is fine and Koulibaly at 87 is fine. Silva got an 86 this year and Azpil continues his irl decline with a fifa decline to 82. Chilwell has an 82 which would have been higher had he not been injured for so long imo.

Lukaku on loan drops down to overalls from 88 to 86. Ziyech continues to decline from last years 84 and the 85 he had had he joined to 83 this year. Kai stays at 84, Kova too stays at 84, Conor has a 79 which you feel will be upgraded to 80 soon enough. Mendy has a solid 86, Pulisic stays at 82. Jorginho also stays at 85.

Chelsea for the second year running are rated as a 5 star team. Finally not to be overly critical but every year the team that won the club world cup had the world champion badge on their home shirt and surprise surprise they forget to add it in this year....the year where we would wear it.

If I was to review the game my early impressions after about 2 weeks of playing it including early access and I suppose testing the beta are that it's a good football game. Although time will tell.

Edit: per usual I've started a career mode where I try not to sign anyone and take the current squad to glory. Unfortunately both Mason Mount and Aubameyang got injured for long period of time so I was forced to sign Nkunku in January mwahaha. Also random note Broja for a 75 feels really good and I highly recommend trying all the Chelsea players out even the lower ratings like Trevor 76 who's solid imo and RLC who again at 76 is solid for me.

I have a career mode going, disabled the transfer window for the first window then in Jan signed Bellingham and Gvardiol. Finished third in the prem and won the champions league beating Madrid 4-0 in the final.

Then in the summer window I signed:
- Rice
-Nkunku
-Livramento
-Maignan (Mendy P/ex)

Whenever I do a Chelsea save I try and keep it as realistic as possible, and not just go and sign Mbappe and Haaland etc. Think my signings so far are all fairly realistic.

I have sold:
-Ziyech
-Lukaku
-Loftus Cheek
-Sarr

As well as players like Anjorin, Rahman, Bakayoko etc.

I am enjoying it but as I said in the gaming thread the balance is not good between opponents being bad and being world class, I play on Legendary and Ultimate with custom sliders but find it is still too inconsistent.

Once I get bored of the Chelsea save which usually happens after about 3-4 seasons, I will probably do a Wrexham save and give them a load of money and try and get to the Prem and Europe as quickly as I can.

Fifa 23 is the best fifa since Fifa 18.

19-22 were so bad, so buggy, they should have all been recalled for faults.

I only really play ultimate team and the game dies by Xmas every year with the amount of promos they throw out for the sake of it. Pro clubs is always a good laugh with friends but they've not improved that for years now. FIFA hasn't been really good since about fifa 12.

I've never played FIFA but I'm thinking of treating myself to a PS5 - would FIFA17 be a good option to start with these game?

Wouldn't ever bother going back to play any of the older fifa's once the new one comes out. Everyone migrates to the new one and online/market on it dies completely
