I think it’s sold out now. Any ideas of the allocation?

As far as I know, the club haven't released the number of tickets sold for CFCW vs Spurs but you'd like to think that when they say 'sold out' they at least mean that all general sale tickets have been sold. There are some hospitality tickets available at £45 which gives fans who fancy that sort of thing a chance to experience it at a way more reasonable price.

Three recent 'big' women's football matches I've attended have suffered a significant number of no shows, so I'm looking forward to seeing if we can buck that trend. 90,000 tickets were sold for England vs USA - 74,000 turned up, 53,000 sold for Arsenal vs Spurs - 47,000 turned up, and 8,000 sold for ManU vs CFCW - 6,000 turned up. To be fair, attending the games at Wembley and Leigh Sports Village near Manchester was complicated by late kick-off times and rail strikes.

I don’t see why not!

I just wondered if the increased percentage of family groups who attend women's games might encourage the club to put the seats down for this one. Shed Upper is one of my favourite parts of the stadium but I prefer sitting these days, so I avoid it now.

You can still sit in the seats, there’s just a big bar in front of them now to stop people being able to push forward.

But how do you see if people in front of you are standing? That's what's put me off.

You scream ‘sit down’ like a deranged lunatic. To be fair, last time we played there everyone was sitting in the shed. People are a lot nicer to each other in the womens game.

I was referring to my attitude when I watch CFCM. I now always prefer tickets in MHU. That said, I'm going to need to update myself on how the safe standing sections are working. My understanding was, and is I suppose, that people are entitled to stand there if they wish. That means that anyone buying a seat in that area must accept that people can and will stand if they wish. Certainly I did not think anyone would be entitled to ask someone else to sit.

If I would be able to insist that other people sit down in the safe standing areas, then what would be the point of the areas in the first place?

When you said, "The last time we played there", I thought you meant 'Chelsea' but I realise now that you mean Chelsea Women. That game was before the safe standing sections were licensed and implemented of course. I think it's either going to be seats up or seats down on Sunday, not mix and match. Hopefully seats down.

Yeah but everyone just sat down by default where as at a mens game everyone stood up by default. I think with the difference in attitude between the two sets of supporters and the fact there will be a lot of families/children means that we’ll be sat down on Sunday. I hope it is anyway, it’s been a long week on my feet!

You're making yourself sound as old as I am! 🙂

If my understanding is correct then, when safe standing is in effect, the seats are locked in the folded up position so sitting is not possible even if you want to. I'm in the West Stand on Sunday so I'll be sitting down for sure. I'm going to talk to some friends who are Shed Enders later to get the full gen.

No the seats don’t lock at all dude, they’re the same bog standard seats all over the ground.

Thanks. I've now spoken to people who have also confirmed that you can sit if you want to as long as you understand that others around you can and will stand if they want to.
