Having no European football distraction worked great for us in our title winning season under Conte, but that was with a small squad with limited rotation. Imagine trying to keep our current 30+ player first team squad happy with just league appearances......

If I'm honest I think the overall level of the PL has been poor (scaled for the hype and especially money involved) for over a decade. The league is living off the 00s period almost as much as Liverpool pre Klopp were with the 80s. We keep hearing the PL is so so much better than La Liga but the results in Europe in recent times strongly suggest otherwise. 

Any other league where the 3rd place team loses 7-0 and it would be the final proof needed to show how 'weak' a league it is.

While we would get bantered to hell and back I would rather be in it than not in any Europe tournament.

A big chance to play some youngsters and a ridiculously massive chance of silverware, we need the first trophy of the new regime as quickly as possible.

I don’t agree with this one .. RM in UCL is an anomaly.. if anything the league is ultra competitive causing such results and also injuries form dips for players.. there are games in Laliga where RM and Barca just turn up to win. 
 

the fact that these players need to be full tilt all the time with no winter break gives us more of these results and poorer performance in the continent.

Utd got thrashed but so did we by city .. Astonvilla spanked pool a couple of seasons back and city also has had some 4-0s .

I genuinely think the levels of epl mean that the moment you have an off day any opponent can spank you. I don’t see that in any other league.
