May 19, 20242 yr Been a funny and frustrating season that's for sure. I doubt I've been so angry so many times in one campaign, not sure how the tele survived to be honest ! I have been 'poch out' for most of the season (and i'll never forgive him for the league cup bottling) but.. we finished 6th, yes bloody 6th!!. Didnt see that coming after the Arse game. Player wise very similar, i never wanted to see Jackson or madueke in a chels shirt ever again after the petulant penalty incedent, but something changed in the team/squad that night. Not sure if it was poch, his staff or the players but somethimg sunk in to this group and the teams mentality changed. Since that embarrasing moment we have become a team, and barring the Arse fiasco weve been progressing, and at a fair rate too. There are a few that really havent looked up to it, and i wouldnt mind seeing them gone in the summer. Broja, disaster, martinez, and of course the likes of Kepa and Lukaku finally of the wage bill. I will be gutted if conner goes, you cannot buy that kind of commitment. On the plus side player wise, palmer has been a revelation, outstanding and a star of the future. Noni and Jackson have both come on leaps and bounds and with another season of experience will be a potent force i think. My biggest pleasure of the season has been the improvement of mudriyck, i so want him to succeed after a few dissapointing superfast wingers we've had recently. All in all i am quietly confident for next season if we can replace silva, and hope that james and chilly can stay fit.
May 20, 20242 yr Think you've pretty much covered exactly how i felt. Great end to the season but you have to question why it took Poch so long to land on this winning formula. Chilwell at LW, Maatsen in attack, Colwill LB, Caicedo 1 man midfield. Its been a long season but its finally starting to click. Undoubtedly we should be going into next season with Poch and see how we get on again, we need stability more than anything right now. Summer we need to prioritise a LB, CB and striker. LB depends largely on Chilwell's fitness. Another season with Cucu playing inverted and having Chilwell as a runner overlapping depending on the circumstances of the opposition are two good options. Realistically i can see the club looking to shift Chilwell due to his wages and fitness, not sure if there's many suitors though. CB is just an experienced head in to replace Silva. Don't need to spend loads, just a stop gap to see how Fofana recovers. ST, once again need some experience to share the minutes with Jackson. Something similar to what we got with the Giroud signing.

I genuinely have a feeling the sporting directors are going to bring those points up and Poch is going to have a meltdown.
May 20, 20242 yr Just looked at Enzo, his last match was the 5-0 defeat to Arsenal then we draw 1 and win 4............ Very suggestive.
May 20, 20242 yr Suggestive that we only had a 30% Enzo for 8 months cause he was carrying an injury the whole time!

It's because of the tactics, not because Enzo was out of the team. Look at the Villa game, that was set to be another humiliation and Enzo didn't play. Pochettino switched tactics at half time and we started dominating, we've stuck with it since. I also think we have been very lucky with this recent run. We've been saved by the bar and post multiple times against West Ham, Forest and Brighton.
